I'm glad I'm not alone here. I like Family Feud, I really do. However, it shouldn't even be close to 100 airings a week. That's just awful in terms of variety. I don't care if the show has a lot of episodes, it shouldn't be run to death like this.

I hear ya. GSN seems to be obsessed with Family Feud so much, it isn't even funny. Where is Richard Dawson and Ray Combs when you need them the most? Lucky for me, I have no interest in any 21st century Family Feud in existence, so I am ahead of the game. I only record/watch GSN for the pre-1990 shows while they are currently on the air. Once the schedule is flooded 100% with reality garbage and 21st century crap (which I'm guessing will be by the time the 2020s rolls around), I will be calling my cable provider and cancelling my subscription to GSN. I doubt you would be able to cancel your subscription to the Game Show Network without having to cancel your subscriptions to other national programming services provided by your cable TV provider as part of your level of service. If the Game Show Network were a premium service like the Home Box Office, it would have been possible to cancel your subscription to their programming without affecting other programming.

It is so hard to find anything else to watch on GSN besides Family Feud and I agree that Family Feud is taking over the GSN schedule way too much. Before they started this Family Feud obsession with Steve Harvey's Family Feud GSN had a ton of other game show favorites to watch but now the only weekday morning show I watch is Catch 21. Whatever happened to GSN favorite game shows such as Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck 1 Vs 100 and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and many more? And not only is Family Feud being shown on the weekends but while watching Catch 21 today there was a total of five Family Feud commercials and four Minute To Win It commercials and only one commercial for The Chase which shows you that Steve Harvey is the prince of the GSN kingdom. I think GSN should stop this Family Feud obsession and limit Family Feud to weekend nights only and return to showing many game shows once again that game show fans such as myself would love. I think once The Chase returns November 5th GSN will focus on The Chase more and not so much on Family Feud to attract a huge audience, Kelsey

I agree. There's just way too much Family Feud on GSN. It's still a great show though.

I'm very glad you agree Tyler and I think GSN should try to air other game show favorites such as Deal Or No Deal and try to put Press Your Luck at 10:00AM in place of the John O'Hurley Family Feud and air Catch 21 Season 1 reruns and for the weekends show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Greed and 1 Vs 100 instead of Steve Harvey's Family Feud. I LOVED when GSN showed The Chase on Saturdays at 11:00 and it was something different for me because before then I never watched Saturday Morning TV on GSN but as soon as The Chase is on hiatus the weekend schedule on GSN is now back to showing Minute To Win It and Dog Eat Dog and of course Family Feud and I cannot figure out why they removed The Chase when they could have repeated the episodes every Saturday instead of Family Feud. I mean when Richard Dawson died it was a wonderful idea to have a Family Feud marathon but don't air Family Feud over and over and over so many times a day. In closing I shall say that GSN could be a better improved channel with more original shows besides focusing on Family Feud, Great to hear from you Tyler, Kelsey

Eh. It's not my thing, but I can see the appeal it would have to the mainstream. And that's what the purpose of "celebrity" gimmicks like these are, at the end of the day: They're a way to draw in people who might not otherwise watch a show like Feud and see if you can hook them. It's one way to grow your audience beyond the niche that already watches.
Let them have their fun, I say.

It almost looked like a normal episode. Almost...because teams were playing six-on-six with Buddy and June playing behind their kids. Otherwise, the usual double entendre questions. Oh yeah...."Cake Boss" won and took Fast Money. The last question might give one pause though. It had to do with something you wouldn't sell to a minor. Cigarettes and Alcohol took up 99 of the 100 possible points.

Yes, I may be in the minority who recorded Louie Anderson's Family Feud yesterday, because I don't think he was that bad of a host. But that could be just me.
But what I noticed on yesterday's marathon airings was that not only were the credits aired intact (they must have been left alone because all five commercial breaks were used up, plus the end credits lasted less than 30 seconds, not enough time to replace it with a GSN promo), but also Louie was plugging a website for people to play Family Feud online. That website was uproar.com - it is defunct for some time now. I personally think this would have been a good time for GSN to go to splitscreen mode, given that Louie was plugging something that is deemed redundant in this day and age.
If GSN decided to air Louie's Feud someday (probably won't be any time soon), GSN could at least add a disclaimer stating that the site is no longer active. Given that GSN only decided to air two episodes for now, and not planning on picking up such Feud as a regular lease, maybe to GSN it doesn't justify the need for a disclaimer or splitscreen promo.

I'd hope people would be smart enough to know that these ads for older shows just aren't relevant. Just like at the beginning of the credit roll on several $ale episodes today, they had ticket plugs and contestant plugs with addresses and numbers. Someone would have to be stupid to respond to those.

Can they go back through the episodes and add one of those "previous recording" messages?
All they had to do is go "do not call". Simple as that.
I'll move this to the Game Shows of the Present board for you, meanwhile.

^ This is what USA Network did. During the ticket and contestant plugs for shows like $ale and Pyramid, they'd slap a "PHONE NUMBER NOT ACTIVE" line over the number.

Currently watching the 1 PM Family Feud (O'Hurley's Bulls-eye version) and I just saw something very odd. After the point tripling round, neither team reached 300 points. The sudden death round that follows will always be enough for a team to win, right? Not this time! Turns out the team that got the question right didn't have enough points to win, so a second sudden death was needed for a team to win. The same family got both right for the win.
My question is this. Actually, more than one question. WTF?! Is THIS why so many people hated this version of Family Feud? How can the producers let something like this happen? Has that happened any other time? This just blows my mind.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Just seeing this unusual occurrence was.........unusual, and baffling.

I'll move it to the Present board.
That's kind of odd that a Sudden Death question would fall short of what a team needed to get to 300. Was the second SD question worth more than the first one?
