Now that we are into the second week of GSN's current limited run of Password Plus, I would like to ask, was yesterday's airing the earliest known episode with the password text color changed to light blue instead of light yellow?
EDIT: I didn't watch yesterday's airing, but after viewing today's airing, the password shown on the screen is indeed light blue now instead of light yellow. Given that GSN tends to skip Christmas week 1981 due to James B. Sikking's refusal to clear his appearances for rebroadcast, it's virtually impossible to know when exactly the password on the monitor changed from light yellow to light blue (it may have occurred during the unaired Christmas week 1981 or during the Edie McClurg/Tom Poston week that's airing as of yesterday as I post this. But either way, in this limited run, the light yellow password lasted only 5 episodes.

Why did they think those sound effects would make sense?

I noticed on yesterday's airing of Super Password there was a contestant named Lynn, and it was a guy. I did read somewhere on the Internet a long while ago that Press Your Luck had a male contestant named Lynn as well. Was the Lynn that was on yesterday's airing of Super Password the same guy who was once on Press Your Luck?

Also, I noticed on my recording of Thursday's Super Password, the champion was crowned (I am not sure if it was Kristen or Dino) at the end of the episode, and while I was expecting to see yesterday's airing start off with the Super Password round, there were two different players and a new match was beginning. Was the champion on Thursday's airing deemed ineligible and that may be the reason why there was no Super Password round to start Friday's show?

GSN had just skipped the episode (#604) in question. That's why there is a discontinuity in the gameplay. They did the same thing the last time this round of episodes was aired. Most likely tape damage.

So, on today's Super Password, did the champion play the end game for $45,000 or $5,000? It would be a shame if an episode with a big win got skipped, but oh well, that's life.

I would like to ask a question regarding Super Password...
In January 1987 (where GSN's airings are at this point), when the celebrities come out through the door during the intro, they show both the celebrities side by side in one shot. Later in 1987, they would show close-ups of each celebrity's face one after the other - it was definitely in place by March 16, 1987 during the Jill Whelan/Bill Rafferty week (the faces inside a star with a red border would not appear until later in 1988). I do have to ask, when in 1987 did the close-ups of each celebrity's face get shown during the intro? It would have to first happen between sometime later in January 1987 and March 16, 1987.
Seeing that GSN is not renewing the leases or replacing their classic game shows this year from the looks of things, we should be seeing the Bill Rafferty week be rebroadcast in the spring (later in April or May, most likely).

Then again, there were all the times when Bert accidentally gave out the answer to the Super Password...

I'm shocked that nobody answered my question, but regardless, I did find out that the close-ups of the celebrities' faces were definitely prevalent by March 6, 1987 - if I were to guess, such close-ups started on March 2, 1987.

Since I have all episodes on one disc from 2/19/87 to 3/6/87, it was easy enough for me to check. Sorry I didn't see your original question for some reason.
Yes, it started with the first episode of the Marsha Warfield/Tom Poston week on 3/2/87. I actually prefer not having the close-ups, as it was fun seeing the interactions between the two celebrities as they were being introduced.

I think it's worth pointing out Bill Rafferty is on Super Password today (5/5). Don't know how much of this week has gone by so far though.

Waiting on the week that had Tony Papenfuss (a.k.a. "Darryl #1" on NEWHART).

If anyone's interested, the finale if Password Plus aired this morning (5/23). That means Tuesday we go back to the Betty White & Pat Sajak week.
