Fremantle is bringing back Supermarket Sweep with a modern technology. It has yet to be determined which network will air.

If they don't bring back David Ruprecht to host the revival, I think it will fail.

They brought back Dale Winton on Supermarket Sweep in the UK about 10 years ago. He looked great but little did I know he had health problems and was going to pass away a few years ago. However, I've seen David talk about Supermarket Sweep when he hosted it. His hair is completely gray now and he's grown a beard. If Wayne Brady and Steve Harvey are still popular, then why can't he be? I was told by another group of game show fans that Al Howard's son would be involved in the new version. They got, and still have, their hopes up about it. I understand that Johnny Gilbert most likely won't be announcing the new version, because he's still busy with Jeopardy. Case in point, in the mid 2000's UK version, they couldn't get Bobby Bragg to announce, but they got Gary King instead. But, Dale was still the host. Granted, they didn't know that Dale's health was poor because it's taboo in the entertainment business to discuss someone with poor health unless they disclose it to the news themselves. David should know that too. He looks different, but he still sounds the same. He has a passion for the show, and it's only fair. I look forward to the new announcer talking about contestants ramming almond milk into their carts should the revival happen.

This is wonderful news. If I can find a teammate for this revival; I'm definitely the runner.

If they don't bring back David Ruprecht to host the revival, I think it will fail. I don't think this will happen as long as if this revival is still happening, that they get someone to host this show that does it well. Every single one of these game shows on ABC for example that we've seen are doing well for the most part and it's because they got folks who can connect with the players and connect with the audience. It's all that's needed.

Wow! I don't believe this! I understand that Elizabeth Banks, Joel McHale and Alec Baldwin are the hosts of their respective shows because Peter Tomarken, Jim Perry and Gene Rayburn have all passed away, but I see no reason why David can't do it. AS they say, age is nothing but a number. I think David's still got it. After all, why would they go after Dale in the UK if they didn't want him? He could have turned it down, but he didn't!
By the way, I follow Rylan Clark Neal, the new UK host, on Twitter. I congratulated him on getting the job. He is gay, just like Dale was, but considering that he was a former X Factor UK contestant, I'm not sure how long the revival will last.
If they don't go after David for the US revival, however, if I had to choose the host, I'd choose John Michael Higgins. Alas, he's too busy with America Says. Decisions decisions!

Hey, if David wants to host the show and as you say, still [has] it, and they get him; then that would be great and I'm not going to argue against it.
The thing is, I just don't see that happening and I wouldn't get my hopes up if this reboot happens.

AS they say, age is nothing but a number. Try convincing a network executive of that.

Guys, honestly. Let's not fight over the host of this. You don't even know if there's a reboot in the works, or if Fremantle just acquired it to air it on Buzzr and whatnot.

If a revival of the show were happening, Buzzerblog would have known about it before any of us would.
