Per the new PDFs, 585 (OAD 23 December 1985) will air on 23 December (oddly enough) and the Christmas Eve marathon will feature eps 586-593 (OADs 24 December 1985 - 3 January 1986).

I saw Press Your Luck for the very first time Christmas Eve and got up extra early just to see it {Even though my mother wanted me to sleep in} I just couldn't help seeing Press Your Luck myself and let me tell you it's so cute and my favorite part of the game was The Whammies of course. Even though it's so awesome and fun to watch I sure wish Press Your Luck could be on later like at noon. But it was wonderfully fun to see and Peter Tomarken was so awesome as the host and Press Your Luck really showed his talents in game shows, Kelsey

If you couldn't watch today, I hope you PYL fans set your DVRs for this one (OAD 14 March 1986)...

For all you Wheel of Fortune fans, Charlie O'Donnell is as the mic. We will be hearing his voice, for at least 11 shows, including this one.

One of the contestants in the edition of "Press Your Luck" broadcast by the Game Show Network today reminded me of a younger version of Pat Sajak of "Wheel of Fortune". Coincidentally the announcer for this edition of "Press Your Luck" (Charlie O'Donnell) would later become a regular announcer for "Wheel of Fortune" and the contestant who resembled Pat Sajak had the same first name as the person who usually announced for "Press Your Luck" (Rod Roddy).

I am not sure if I realize, but I think I may be starting to slowly lose interest in Press Your Luck as of lately. Of course, with only four full calendar months of the series awaiting to be aired (many of the episodes are on YT already), and when we get to the mid-June and July 1986 episodes, my interest in Press Your Luck is going to get duller until we finally get around to seeing the episodes not on YT. September 1986 will likely be the last full month to look forward to, but since the finale is already on YT, I think my interest in the show will likely be heading off into the sunset after the second-last episode of the series is aired on GSN.
It looks like, come July, if the finale has aired, my collection of Press Your Luck episodes will be virtually complete (except for a small handful of 1984 and early 1985 episodes). And when a collection is complete, or close to it, it's natural to lose interest in such thing, since there won't be anything new to look forward to. As a matter of fact, most of the run of Press Your Luck I have no interest in anymore - I lost interest in the 1983 and early 1984 episodes after GSN has aired them when they were new to GSN.
Since Press Your Luck may likely be exhausted by July, it looks as if my interest in game shows - as a whole - will likely be cut in half. It could be possible that only one game show will be my focus after July, or whenever the Press Your Luck episodes are exhausted, and that last game show for me to focus on will be Bob Eubanks' Card Sharks. If that goes, so will my interest in game shows, at least for a while.

I see 3 more episodes are set to be skipped soon, including the one where the returning champion misses an episode taping due to missing her flight.

Anybody have definitive air dates to go along with the episode numbers for PYL? The guide I found online has gaps and incongruities in the listing, and I'm trying to reconcile the air dates, as the GSN schedule pdfs don't list air dates.
I could go from the Christmas episodes that aired back in December and work forward from there, but I don't know if there were any pre-emt days going forward (or backward).
Aside from the Christmas episodes, I haven't noticed any clues in the episodes themselves (like mentions of the day of the week, or other minor holiday days).

There's Jason Hernandez's episode guides, which are pretty much the most accurate source. If you want video links with your listings (albeit incomplete since some shows aren't online or I haven't watched the latest GSN-aired ones yet), I've got you covered for GSN's current lease and points afterward. No episode aired on New Year's Day 1986, although there were at least two pre-empted days afterward -- January 27 (#609) in markets that didn't air the show at 4:00 PM, then on January 28 (#610) network-wide due to the Challenger disaster. This is presumably why #667 (April 17, 1986) was skipped by GSN recently, as Peter reads a letter about the "January 31" show (actually #611, which had originally been scheduled for the 29th) at the end of that show. Note that both Jason's listings and my own (which are based on Jason's) use the originally-scheduled dates.

Yep, Jason Hernandez is where I got mine from. I guess he made some updates to it since I captured his data into an offline file to work from.

Minor update since the advance schedules for March 23-29 have been out for a bit -- the Press lease is going through at least #688 (May 16, 1986), just 22 episodes before the Round 2 board values plummet and a mere 70 shows from the end of the run. No idea how much farther GSN's gonna go, but it's gonna get a bit depressing if/when they get to #710. Jason Hernandez is where I got mine from. I guess he made some updates to it since I captured his data into an offline file to work from. Okay, now you've got me curious -- when did you capture Jason's data? I know he's been updating the guide on a somewhat-regular basis since shortly after the current lease began.

Oh, I probably grabbed it back when the initial 001-111 lease of shows started airing. It's been a while. I've refreshed it now.
