This'll be interesting to see how this is all reconciled. According to GSN's schedule, they aired #679 today, with Vance, Gail, Joe, which is #681 (5/7/86) in Jason's guide. The other mystery is that the episode numbers on the GSN schedule jumped from #675 to #679, which implies 3 episodes skipped, but following the contestant flow it looks like only 2 episodes were skipped (the one that Aaron won and the won that Vance won). Also, there is a 6-day gap in airdates.

I think this can be reconciled: * #675 was the one Peggy won. It was also the last show of that taping day. * Peggy was late for the next weekend of taping, so #676 had (from what I've read) Aaron/Laura/Nancy, which had been uploaded by "thegreatwhamini" in 2007. * #677 was Marc/Aaron/Kathryn, most of which is online. * Peggy made it to the studio in time for #678 (Peggy/Aaron/Vince), which Vince won.
...And hence we're here. Three episodes skipped, Jason's page is slightly off.

There's also an episode of Press Your Luck with contestants named Dawn Debbie and a guy named... Regis. And when I first heard about this Press Your Luck episode I had to laugh because I had never seen anyone else named Regis other than Regis Philbin. Do you remember this Press Your Luck episode?, Kelsey

I don't remember it, but looking at Jason's guides it was #266 (September 27, 1984).
As for the current lease, it's still going for the week of March 30-April 3 with no skips (currently through #693, aired 5/23/86).

I thought it was actually May 26, 1986 that is scheduled for April 3? If I recall, today's GSN was a Monday episode - May 12, 1986, to be exact.

Daniel goes by the original intended airdates for the episodes for his video archives site of the 1985-1986 episodes.

So, I take it is no longer available on Youtube? * Peggy was late for the next weekend of taping, so #676 had (from what I've read) Aaron/Laura/Nancy, which had been uploaded by "thegreatwhamini" in 2007.

On today's episode (#685), did anyone else hear Judy whisper "damn it" when John selected Puerto Vallarta from a PAC? It sure sounded like it to me.

Casey just posted the PDF schedule for the week of April 6th. Bad news for Press Your Luck fans: GSN will revert to episode 561 (the first episode of the current lease) on Thursday, April 9th. Looks like we won't be seeing through till the end of the series after all

Yesterday's episode had one of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen by a contestant. Ed got the lead, had 5 spins remaining, and could have passed them all to Frank who was one whammy away from being eliminated. Instead Ed continued on, got a whammy, and then was $500 away from the lead when he passed his one remaining spin to Frank. Of course Frank won.
Usually this is one of the main reasons I watch this show, to see how dumb some people can be.

Giving this thread a new life, because I have observed something on the YouTube episodes from the fall of 1985 to sometime in December 1985...
I noticed that the Boy George Whammy had disappeared at some point in 1985, but reappeared sometime in 1986. One person. who worked on the show back in the day, did mention on Facebook that there were legal issues with some of the musical Whammy animations.
One of two possible reasons may be to blame for its disappearance:
1. The band Culture Club may have filed a lawsuit against the show for modeling the Whammy animation to be resemblent of Boy George, and that animation may have resurfaced in 1986, and if a lawsuit was prevalent, the animation may have been restored after the lawsuit was settled out of court.
2. It may be because of the release of Culture Club's fourth studio album From Luxury to Heartache, and the band was releasing singles again. It may be possible that the Boy George Whammy was only shown from June 20, 1984 until sometime in 1985 because of the band releasing singles during that period, when the band's popularity was at its peak.
Then again, the Michael Jackson Whammy was still used frequently, despite Michael Jackson not having any singles released until his 1987 album Bad. I'm leaning towards #1 being a possible reason for the disappearance of the Boy George Whammy.

The dumbest decision I ever saw was as follows:
One player was behind by $2500 and had 1 spin left. He landed on "move one space" and had the choice between $500 and a spin or $2500. If he had taken the $2500, he would have tied the leader and both players would have come back. On the extra spin, he got $800.
Considering most of the spaces on the board are considerably less than two grand, there was no reason not to say "Okay, we'll tie, and settle this another day".

Also, there might have been matters involving Boy George allegedly having problems at the time. That is all I can say at this time.

WWE's cut ties with people because they've done stupid stuff years ago. I know that's probably comparing apples to oranges, but still...
