vahan, I found another preemption on April 14, 1977: RONA LOOKS AT... KATE JACKSON, PENNY MARSHALL, TONY TENNILLE AND CINDY WILLIAMS: Rona Barrett, host. Interviews. That makes it 5 preemptions that we know of.

vahan, I found another preemption! This time it is from August 12, 1977: NEWS SPECIALS: Live coverage of the first manned separation‐flight of the Enterprise space shuttle, from Edwards Air Force Base, California.
We know there are at least 6 preemptions now.

GSC, somehow, I do not thing the August 12 preemption counts. Here's why: www.newspapers.com/newspage/383594769/ (Los Angeles) www.newspapers.com/newspage/391831081/ (New York City) Read the OCR text. It looks like the live coverage affected Feud on the East Coast, but not on the West Coast. As for other preemptions, let's recap: We already mentioned both Rona Barrett specials, both Thanksgiving 1976 preemptions, the Carter inauguration, and the Thanksgiving Day 1977 preemption. The show was also preempted by both Reagan inaugurations. So, what could the other 11 be?

I wonder if there were any nationwide pre-emptions in August 1977 because of coverage of the death of Elvis Presley, and maybe funeral coverage?
And regarding Rona Barrett, was she the host of At Rona's, which replaced $ale of the Century for two weeks on NBC?

Rona Barrett did host At Rona's on NBC daytime from March 6-17, 1989, but it did not become a series.

The Paley Center has an episode from the original broadcast (WLS-TV Chicago) available for viewing. It comes from February 26, 1979, and the families were Haymond Vs. Holmes.

I believe this is how many Daytime episodes each year with Richard Dawson had:
1976: 145 1977: 255 1978: 257 1979: 265 1980: 255 1981: 260 1982: 255 1983: 260 1984: 258 1985: 101 (Some episodes towards the end may have been unaired originally)
As for ABC Primetime Specials:
1978: 2 1979: 5 (Last one aired in February 1980) 1980: 3 1981: 3 (Last one aired in February 1982) 1982: 2 (Last one aired in February 1983) 1983: 1 (Aired in March 1984) 1984: 1

I just did the calculation
