You may have received an e-mail today (or down the road; we're not exactly sure when they'll arrive these days) regarding a problem that the staff has been noticing around the internet these days. Please talk about the e-mail in this thread. EDIT: Or, if you'd like, you can read this.

Is the email related to game show forums or a random email designed to spread viruses?

Is the email related to game show forums or a random email designed to spread viruses? The e-mail that the attachment shows was sent to everyone on the board. There are no viruses involved, seriously.

Casey Abell has gone after other boards and I think made a jab at his one on this blog, I know. I haven't gone after this board or any other boards, even those who have banned me.

I've been thinking about this for a while, without knowing exactly what to say.
I'm only saying this in general: I don't understand why people can't just leave a board or part of a fandom section and move on if they don't like it so much. I've been a fan of many things over the last close to 20+ years of being on the internet... game shows, soap operas, Doctor Who, Beyoncé, etc., and that involves going to message boards, websites, and places where I lose desire to keep posting or being involved in some way for one reason or another... and I just move on. Sure, if it's brought up between friends privately or broadly somewhere everywhere else in a while, I might say something as to why I left.
But the constant shade and dragging and pot shots aren't necessary. I haven't posted on a certain board in 13 years (not even naming what board it is or what genre it belongs to). It's not even a slight against them anymore, I just don't care for how things are run there. So I just prefer to lurk occasionally. I don't talk about it. I don't hold anything against any moderator or anyone who posts there. I just moved on because it's not that big of a deal.
There was also one other board I had visited and lurked regularly at (and for the sake of this discussion and to clarify immediately, it was NOT a game show board and no familiar people in the fandom posted anything there of this vernacular) but casual racism tended to rear its ugly head too often and nothing was done about it, and it made me just leave.
I don't have any ideas at the top of my head right now about here, but if someone's really passionate about making a place better, I don't know why they can't just DM a mod privately and respectfully with their grievances and say "This is what I would like to see more of" or something of that vernacular.
