Okay. Moved. All J! topics are to be posted here. And Kaos - Trebek's mustache really doesn't have to be put under a spoiler cut.

At first, I thought that record belonged to Don Francisco of Sabado Gigante, but then I realized that show is only on weekly. OOPS! Well, that show has been hosted by Don Francisco (aka Mario Kreutzberger ) weekly with no repeats for over 50 years (since its premiere in Chile on 8-8-62)

▲ That, and Sabado Gigante isn't really a "game show" by strict definition, though it obviously incorporates a game/audience-participation element. It also qualifies as a talk show and a variety spectacular, forming a three-way mashup of genres not often seen in English-speaking markets but which are quite popular elsewhere in the world.

I know about that show and about Don Francisco mainly because my grandmother used to watch that show every day and also my great-aunt was a fan of Don Francisco too and had a mega crush on him when she was a teen. It''s hard to believe that Don Francisco and Alex Trebek share the same world record for game shows. By the way the English translation of Sabado Gigante is Giant Saturday. Fun isn't it and I think it's amazing that show has the same record as Jeopardy with no repeats in history, Kelsey

I'm don't think it's the same record, but they each have their own record none the less.
(watching) Darn, Don Francisco looks pretty good for having hosted for 52 years...
Er, anyway, back to Jeopardy...

I've been listening to a great interview with Alex Trebek from the Nerdist podcast series with Chris Hardwick. It's about 1 1/2 hours. It's from May of this year.

I'll add all Sports Jeopardy comments here, and feel free to chime in. Watched both episodes. I knew I'd like it, just 'cause it's Jeopardy, but I really like the show. I think I like the whole idea of having 6/4 instead of 6/5 for this version. Contestant interviews are a little long, but expected. I've done good with some of the questions. NASCAR and NHL ones. I don't see how the contestants don't get "Matteau! Matteau! Matteau!" in the second episode. Seriously. This was just an ugly episode for hockey questions, except for the blogger who answered WHA correctly. I want to subscribe to this newsletter just a little bit longer. Me gusta.

There was one girl on there I totally had the hots for. Terri Pous. She ended up winning 2 games and losing the 3rd missing a question on Don Quixote. But still, she did win $40,601 for the three days she was on, which was something majorly impressive. She looked about 16 but was actually 23.
