Normally I don't post to this thread, but have some news to share regarding Alex Trebek... I'm not sure if this is true, but I did learn that Alex Trebek is having (or has had) knee surgery, and will continue hosting Jeopardy! as long as he can, though he will be using a cane. Story HERE.

Which led to the champion after Friday's show not being able to return on-time. She'll come back later on in the season.

A triple $0 tonight for what I believe is the 4th time in history. It was an exciting game, with two players tied heading into final, but everyone got stumped on the clue, category "State Capitals" - about a 1957 historic event which led to a national historic site in the city, declared by a president whose presidential library is now in the city. Correct response was Little Rock, AR - glad to say I got it right. But none of the contestants did and they wagered everything. Three new players tomorrow.

Only the Jeopardy! contestant never missed her flight. As for the triple-zero tie, I did read somewhere that it also occurred in September 1984, either the premiere episode, or the second episode of the series.

Good lord, the kind of crap some people have to deal with. I know people around the world are subjected to sexism, harassment, and objectification pretty much every day, but this article really put a fine point on it. I'm kinda saddened by the fact that I'm not too surprised these things happen -- give someone the veil of anonymity and the ability to instantly respond to or comment on anything and everything, and...well, stuff like this happens. Sexism, harassment, and objectification aren't "cool", they're like that high school/college jerk we've probably all seen in movies or TV (but I'm sure there's legit people like this) who just won't take no for an answer -- i.e., assy. I'm also sure that Jeopardy! isn't the only game/reality show which has had contestants end up being subjected to this kind of treatment by social media. In a better world, this kind of crap wouldn't happen. Unfortunately, we're kinda stuck in this one. As for the triple-zero tie, I did read somewhere that it also occurred in September 1984, either the premiere episode, or the second episode of the series. It was on the second episode, yeah. The clue was looking for the first day of the 20th Century, and all three put in "What is January 1, 1900?" The correct year was 190 1, since there's no year "0".

And she goes on to say that the male contestants don't get as much of this treatment as the females do. (Or they don't get any of it, really.) Keep your perverted comments to yourself, and speak more about their intellectual background.

I posted this in the youtube videos that don't deserve a topic, but thought I'd post it here. We knew it has happened before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOp03rRM6PwNow, I think I've heard that they ask the contestants to write what is/who is when they make their wager

Mario500, I moved your thread because this is kind of J-specific.

I don't think anything like this has happened in the history of game shows. (Let's not speculate if she wins this game or not.)
Read his other tweets to find out more.

Read his other tweets to find out more. In the event they get pushed down (which will probably be inevitable), here they are: * "In the early morning hours cancer took the best friend, partner and pub trivia teammate a guy could ask for. Love you always @nanocindy"* "Be nice. She was fighting a high-grade fever (which turned out to be a blood infection) and was on painkillers while taping. Jesus."I feel like I'm trying not to cry, even though I never even knew about this lady before now. If Jason is reading this, my condolences to you, her family, and her other friends. Cancer sucks and can go f*ck itself, but I think everybody knows that by now. I don't think anything like this has happened in the history of game shows. Sadly, it's not the first time something like this has happened. The only instance I'm aware of is a Cash Explosion player named Deb McDonald, who appeared on January 30, 2010 (taped 1/12/10).

Cindy is now at three wins, totaling just short of $40,000.
