Cool vintage TANLMAD promo I just saw. I'm assuming it was a next episode preview on the master tape of #185 they just played.

They cut the plugs at the end of tonight's fresh Password Plus.

Cool vintage TANLMAD promo I just saw. I'm assuming it was a next episode preview on the master tape of #185 they just played. Local stations played those promos to promote the show. KYW aired those promos in Philly during the 1984-85 season, but IIRC they didn't use those promos during the 1985-86 season when LMAD moved from a 4 or 4:30PM time slot to 12:30(replaced on 5/5/1986 by Million Dollar Chance of a Lifetime). I don't recall seeing the promos on WOR in 1985-86, who aired the second season of All New LMAD at 2PM

At the very end of today's Match Game 75 536, Patti Deutsch answered with the m-word and was censored (with a black band.)

I think this is more about time than anything and it doesn't go much deeper than that. Shows run about one minute or so shorter without fee plugs and such. Vintage plugs and announcements have been a part of these shows for decades and there hasn't been any real issues beyond networks like GSN trying to make more money by cutting them and them trying to make sure people aren't calling ticket plug numbers that don't exist anymore. Though at this point, at least for the next couple of years or so, if someone writes to 7800 Beverly Blvd, they'll more than likely just get Price is Right tickets. CBS dubbed over the voiceovers when they ran those three old '70s Price is Right episodes (and one of them sounded really bad as a result, basically making Johnny Olson sounding like he was talking gibberish), but at least it kind of made sense there.

For what it's worth I agree: it's almost certainly 95% about fitting in more ads, 4% about keeping the current owners of the ticket plug numbers from getting called, and maybe 1% about avoiding confusion (i.e. avoiding complaint letters/emails from confused viewers) My response was to someone who felt insulted that BUZZR would feel the need to cut ticket plugs and "Coming up next!" announcements. I just thought it worth pointing out that if there is any motivation other than $$$, it's probably got to do with the viewers who -- for whatever reason -- don't have a tight grip on the difference between 1979 and 2019. Dementia is an ugly beast.

After a strange two day fee plug omission some time ago, Buzzr has reinserted the fee plugs for Blockbusters!!! I just wish they can do the same for Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour but with two sets of fee plugs during the show, I can understand why they did it but I don't accept it.

I'm always more than happy to not obey the commandments put forth by the oh so sensitive left snowflakes. I refuse their censorship rules about what can be said, thought and written all in the name of the benign sounding political correctness which is nothing but outrageous senseless censorship. Killing a baby is not "choice" libs, it's murder. And the latest victim of censorship the good and decent and totally non-offensive word midget. This is ridiculous, midget is a perfectly normal and fine word that is a proper description of a small person. It is not an insult or a pejorative of any sort. If I was a midget I'd be offended by these bas----s who want to re-brand me a dwarf. To me dwarf is a worst word than the perfectly fine accurate word midget.
To the snowflakes who feign offense at the drop of a hat, I say, as I have long said, GET OVER IT.
