Guests for week 3 are Bobby Van & Elaine Joyce, Patty Duke & John Astin, and Pat & Marjorie Harrington. Pat Harrington is best known for his role as Schnieder on One Day at a Time, which debuted in about a year and a half from this point.

Keep the updates coming!! It was always a pipe dream of mine to make a full episode guide for Tattletales, right down to the proper days each episode aired and everything.

There's an episode where all three couples have $0 halfway into the game, to which Patty Duke says "this show is horrible for marriages!" lol

Is there an episode of Tattletales with Monty Hall and his wife playing the game when Tattletales had Game Show Host week? I read about that episode in my game show book, Kelsey

Yeah, I miss when Brian's site was active. That was a really good resource. Hopefully with Buzzr we'll get past 1975 and see more!!

Just very few episodes have been shown past 1975... and I don't think any after 1977 of the original version have aired on GSN. It's one reason why I was looking forward to the ill-fated DVD release from BCI. ladykelsey, Monty appeared on Tattletales two weeks in 1974 and one week in 1977.

Guests for week 4 (which should be wrapping up tonight) include: Dick Gautier & Barbara Stewart, Steve Allen & Jayne Meadows, and Gary Collins and Mary Ann Mobley. Didn't know the latter couple appeared on this show. Loved seeing them on other game shows like Super Password.

Putting some episodes recently aired to a disc, and according to an up next teaser by Buzzr, the show changed from the original buzz-in format to the all-quickie question format because the producers felt the buzz-in style wasn't working.

Interesting but not surprising. They started doing "All Tattletale-Quickie Day" more and more frequently as time went on I had noticed.

Kinda weird, though, since the "buzz-in" format was not only a holdover from the show's predecessor He Said, She Said, but also better fit the whole "tattling" thing of the show's title.
Then again, the bulk of this run and the entirety of the 1980s revival were all-Quickies, so what do I know?

Quickies move at a faster pace which means less time for celebrities being stuck buzzing in on instinct and just going. "uhh, uhh..." before making a guess at a shot in the dark. Quickies also guarantee that all three sections have a chance at winning some money as compared to just one. Also you have the situations where no one buzzes in or no one gets the question right, so no one gets any money. That makes for some pretty lame TV.

It's namely because I watched a small number of early original format episodes prior to seeing it regularly now but I am now noticing the occasional moment where no one buzzes in. I guess they probably didn't want to waste question material either.

Reading the '74 episode guide as I speak. How far into the show are they at?

Catching up on week 6, which had Betty White & Allen Ludden, Chuck Woolery & Jo Ann Pflug, and Bill & Ann Cullen. For those who may remember, GSN ran some of this week back in 2003 in the mornings on weekends when they were launching Chuck's reality show Naturally Stoned. I recorded a couple episodes then; and that was my first taste of the show and ever since I had been hoping we'd see more of it. There are some really fun and interesting moments that happened this week. On Monday, Jo Ann Pflug listened to the audience during a quickie question, got it wrong and then actually walked down to the rooting section and told the person that she listened to him when the audience reacted negatively to the loss that it was their fault. On Tuesday, there's a hilariously awkward story told of Bill Cullen accidentally fondling his mother-in-law's knee instead of Ann's in a car on the way to a restaurant: Bill: "I'm gonna sound like the dirtiest old man you've had on..." Ann: "You are!" There's also an episode from this week where Betty and Allen scored $0. I haven't gotten to that episode yet (I think it was the Friday show), but it was one of the ones that GSN aired way back when. Reading the '74 episode guide as I speak. How far into the show are they at? Tonight they should start with week 7 with: Steve Allen & Jayne Meadows, Jack and Doe Narz, and Jo Anne Worley and Roger Perry. Roger Perry is probably best known for his recurring role as Mr. Parker on The Facts of Life.
