Watching GSN in my hotel room. That's never happened before. I happened to catch a promo for the 8:00am hour, promoting Caroline & Friends and Match Game.

Hey, AstreKid103090? Please don't make threads just because. We have threads that things can go in. I moved your schedule from '98 in the Miscellany thread. It fits there.

Weird observation, but does anyone else get annoyed with how long some of the commercials on GSN are?

Weird observation, but does anyone else get annoyed with how long some of the commercials on GSN are? I would venture a guess that in todays current television climate, ratings on GSN are probably non-existent, so Sony is probably forced to resort to per-inquiry ads that are essentially infomercials to keep it running.

I complained about this particular company's ads when GSN's forum was up, but I still can't stand seeing the ASPCA ads with the abused animals. It's so bad, I have to change the channel. I watch GSN to break away from BS, but I still have to deal with it because of commercials like those. Yes, it's horrible that these animals have been abused, but personally I'd rather not see it. It makes me cringe and even though I do change the channel whenever one of these ads appears, I shouldn't have to do that. They're hard to watch and I'm sure others feel uncomfortable whenever an ASPCA ad appears as well.
Also, I wish GSN would keep political ads away from their platform. I know I might get in trouble for saying it here after mentioning it in the shout-box and being told not to say anything political, but like I said earlier, I watch GSN to break away from the BS that's happening in today's world. Keep that stuff off the channel. I just don't think GSN is the right place for these ads.

Yes, I agree. Made a similar comment previously and the abused animal and deformed kids people lovers all yelled at me to be grateful that Buzzr and GSN showed these house of horrors so that they could show TV game shows. Well, that's nonsense. Those commercials are unbearable and I only watch Buzzr shows after I've recorded them so that I can fast forward thru those travesties. Watching Buzzr or GSN live is unthinkable.
Whatever happened to nice ads? I'd love to see Jello, Maxwell House, Coke, Swanson TV Dinners and Jimmy Dean sandwichies advertised there even Winston cigies would be a welcome site instead of the horror show they insist on dumping on it's unsuspecting audience. Those ads don't make me want to give those rackets a dime.

Niche networks like GSN have to take what they can get which is why you typically only get the bottom of the barrel level ads.

I have 2 GSN questions for several of you: 1) Is GSN available on Roku(the channel, not the app) 2) Does the Roku GSN schedule display the episode production codes and not the aired episode #s for those who get GSN, Buzzr, and Game Show Central on Roku?

I just found out that in 2022, a new app will be coming to DirecTV. It allows you to watch 4000 channels from any era. Does someone have more information about this?
