TOday is also the fifth anniversary of Pyramid producer Bob Stewart's death. Wow, I didn't realize he died just a couple weeks after Dick Clark. April 18th was the 5 year anniversary of Clark's death.

Reminds me of CHuck Barris and Chris Bearde, the two people who co-produced Gong SHow in the 70s(though Bearde backed out of the 70s run later leaving Barris as the sole producer, though Bearde did produce the 1988-89 Don Bley version) dying a few weeks apart this year.

33 years ago today, Michael Larson, an unemployed ice cream truck driver from Lebanon, Ohio, appeared on the fourth of a five episode taping session for Press Your Luck, and took everyone at CBS Television City Studio 33 in Hollywood, California, for a ride that they would never forget. The episode was so big that it had to be split into two parts for broadcast on June 8 and 11.
Also, when Larson spent six months watching and recording the show, he was watching on WCPO-TV 9 of Cincinnati, Ohio, which is now an ABC affiliate.

35 years ago today, Child's Play ends its series on CBS and gets replaced with Press Your Luck the following Monday. 33 years ago today, Body Language begins airing in the CBS affiliate in Detroit/Pontiac area. Also 33 years ago this week, Jack Clark begins potentially his final week of voicing the $25,000 Pyramid but some affiliates this very week witness the 1958 Chevy Chevette blooper on the $100,000 Pyramid.

Jon was telling me that WJBK-TV didn't have Child's Play very long, as they only had the primary 10am hour programming since Labor Day 1983 to kick off the '83-'84 TV season and WJBK-TV only had Body Language since this very day in 1985 through that series' finale on January 3. I wonder what other game shows WJBK-TV had other than TPIR.

Also 33 years ago this week, Jack Clark begins potentially his final week of voicing the $25,000 Pyramid but some affiliates this very week witness the 1958 Chevy Chevette blooper on the $100,000 Pyramid. A week later, the outlines on the mini-Pyramid boxes became brighter, I think this was the point when they taped the 1st Tourney episodes for the Syndicated series (must have been in August, and aired in November).
