Today, April 25 marks the anniversary of Child's Play inaugurating the new Turnabout end game and Bill Cullen is now introduced as the star rather than the host. Also, with the debut of Turnabout, gone is the clock beeps and notice, the episode's champion sometimes act out when defining the answers, also the illegal clue sound effect from Password Plus comes in.

While we're festive with the 4th of July celebrations, here's some anniversaries of other 4th of July stuff to discuss about: 1985: Body Language uses a chroma key fireworks opening and Tom Kennedy entered with firecrackers. 1986: All daytime game shows are preempted except for Press Your Luck because of the Statue of Liberty's new torch, by this time, there are enough episodes of the daytime TPIR to cover the early Rod Roddy episodes and Botany 500 was still seen in the credits. 1988: Card Sharks inaugurates the Range board Car Game which produced much fewer Car wins than the 7-numbered cards, which returned a week later for YPW.

CC was back in reruns from two weeks at that point. I don't think Daytime WOF aired in reruns on NBC after 9/20

Where did Chris Powey get this info from? My source is Joseph Liebmann, a contestant on a Christmas Teen 1987 special.

My info is correct, I remember it well. 8/30 was the last original for both, then the weeks of reruns before the hour was given back to affiliates. CC was back several weeks later for two years of reruns.

On this day in 1986, CBS takes the 4:00pm slot back to the affiliates and the $25,000 Pyramid(and Card Sharks) raise the winnings limit to $75,000. In Jacksonville, FL for instance, WJXT-TV's 4:00pm slot had been a "blacklisted" slot throughout the decade until Oprah Winfrey came into that slot on this day in '86. There are selected stations that aired Jay Stewart's return to both TTD and TJW on this day in 1980(Art James announced the first 2 weeks of the new season of both) and J! Show #476 which inaugurated the new spinning globe. Also, on this day, the PM counterpart of Card Sharks inaugurates the Prize Cards and the Car round, with the Prize Cards, if the contestant became champion without any prizes and completely busts out in the Money Cards and loses the Car round he/she would enter the next match with absolutely nothing.
