Last nights show seemed great. Not nearly as many pens references as the previous Sunday. That show felt like Phallic Feud

This is one of those rare times that I think something is going to suck and it turns out to be pretty good. Alec Baldwin has a cheesy '70s game show personality and enough humor to keep the show going. This is one thing that people forget, is Match Game is more about the joke than the actual game itself.
One of my favorite lines happened when someone gave a really bad answer and Alec didn't miss a beat. He openly said "I'm sorry, I thought you said ______". That was funny as hell.

I haven't had a chance to catch up with this show yet but I'm looking forward to it now that Buzzr has gone back on some of their game show airings. One positive of that is that I'll have extra time to watch this version.

So last night's episode had been taped way back on November 2, 2016...and had a moment where a contestant skips the euphemisms and innuendo and just says the answer everybody's thinking of (more info here): Yes, I'm pretty sure Betsy was robbed of a win there - Alec and the panelists had the same idea, but the celebs used euphemisms and got ruled against. Alec's closing remark to Betsy makes me feel like she was ruled against specifically so he could go "dur hur glad you CAME". It's like the School Riot of '77 in how the judging is grossly inconsistent.

I just watched the episode in question, and I am glad that I knew what was coming when I watched it. It gave me the proper perspective as events unfolded.
It turned out that the celebrities were a little too clever with their euphemisms, and it cost the contestant at least two matches. "Cream" and "White Chocolate Icing" were not awarded matches, and the game was called before the judges could rule on whether or not "Batter" was a match. Two matches out of those three would have tied, and all three would have produced a win.

I knew exactly what the answer was without even watching the episode yet based on the couple or so replies I've seen around the web. After just seeing it, I find it interesting that they were so lenient earlier in the episode with the hole in one answers and the alternate takes from the celebrities. I do disagree with a couple of the rulings.
I was screaming though when Alec Baldwin said "We're glad you came!" after she lost.

Is it just me, or did one of tonight's contestants look like The Pine-Sol lady?

The latest episode from July 26, 2018 is the first Alec Baldwin episode to feature six celebrities who have all previously appeared.

My cable guide is indicating that on September 24, 2020 a new episode will air, and it is titled "58th Episode anniversary Celebration".
By my count, 59 episodes have already aired, and this episode is actually the 60th.

By my count, 59 episodes have already aired, and this episode is actually the 60th. Just watched this episode. The prize amounts in the Super Match in this episode were increased by $58 each. So instead of $2,000, $3,000, and $5,000 the amounts were $2,058, $3,058, and $5,058. The prize for the H2H match was 5x $5,058, or $25,290, which was won on the second half of the show.

With the latest news involving host Alec Baldwin, I wonder if ABC may be motivated more than ever to cancel his version of Match Game?

Would it also affect Buzzr or GSN ever airing Baldwin MG in reruns?
