There was this little-known game show adaptation of Yahtzee that aired in 1988 with Peter Marshall as the host. Unfortunately, it was too confusing and got canned after one season. Well, I'm bringing it back only more tailored to the actual board game. Pat Finn will host with Rich Fields as the announcer.
The rules:
A question will be asked and the first player to come up with the right answer will get 10 points and control of the dice. You get 3 rolls of the dice. After each of the first 2 rolls, you can keep some of what you've rolled and re-roll the other dice or re-roll all 5 dice. Whatever dice you have after 3 rolls is the ones that will be scored. You can score your roll into any and all columns that apply.
The scoring colums:
Upper Column:
Aces (Count and Add only Ones)
Deuces (2s only)
Threes (3s only)
Fours (4s only)
Fives (5s only)
Sixes (6s only)
Lower Column:
3 of a Kind (Total of all dice)
4 of a Kind (Total of all dice)
Full House (3 in one kind, 2 of another - 25 points)
Small Straight (Sequence of 4 - 30 points)
Large Straight (Sequence of 5 - 40 points)
YAHTZEE (5 of a kind)
Chance (Total of all dice)
If the total of the upper section of your scorecard equals 63 points or higher in any round, you get 35 additional points. First 2 players to fill their card will advance to round 2.
Round 2:
Question values are doubled, but dice values remain the same. The round ends after one person fills their card.
FINAL YAHTZEE:
Played like Final Jeopardy!, a category is revealed and the remaining contestants make their wagers. Then the question is asked and players will get 30 seconds to write down their response. Right answer earns points, wrong answer will cost you points. Most points at the end of Final Yahtzee goes to Bonus Yahtzee.
BONUS YAHTZEE:
The goal of the Bonus Yahtzee round is to....roll a Yahtzee. But you only have 2 minutes (in show time, not board time) to do so. Roll a Yahtzee in that time, win $50,000 (not real money). If you get a Yahtzee on the first roll, you'll get $100,000 (again, not real money).
All times Eastern, by the way.
I need 3 players for this game and the waiting list will be available for future episodes.
