NBC is gonna have a new game show starting September 9th and the name of the show is called The Million Second Quiz and I saw the first ever preview of the show while watching the news and I think NBC will hit a home run with the show because I think the show will be dubbed America's Must See Game Show. I don't know who will be hosting The Million Second Quiz but I have a feeling that NBC will have a winner on their hands, Has anyone heard about The Million Second Quiz?, Kelsey

Ryan Seacrest apparently doesn't have enough on his plate - he's hosting this.
Chalk this up as another show that I won't be watching in the near future.

My radio station is promoting The Million Second Quiz like crazy today by showing tons of radio ads for it and NBC is probably might get a lot of ratings judging from how good the first episode of The Million Second Quiz but I personally think that it will be real successful like Deal Or No Deal or 1 Vs 100 was for NBC. We shall see Monday how successful The Million Second Quiz will be, Kelsey

It's all going to depend on how many people play per week. I don't think viewership is going to be the full impact.

Crossing my fingers that this will be a decent program, especially after seeing Hollywood Game Night. Honestly, HGN has given me brand new hope in the idea that NBC can put on a decent game show in the current day and age. All it takes is the right producers putting on an actual game show and not a gimmick fest.
I hope there will be a decent format. I've seen so many tired game show flops shouting "OMG WE HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS UP FOR GRABS!!1" that have just big money surrounded by a half-assed or just downright horrible format, that just a high amount of money being potentially given away is not going to be enough for me to garner new interest a show alone.

I want to be excited for this but the fact that Pretty Boy Seacrest is at the head of it makes me really hesitant.

Alright, my thoughts:
This show is very gimmicky. It's basically a high stakes version of Double Dare, minus the physical challenge. Literally, the contestants compete for points, and they can use the "Doubler" to force their opponent to answer, the opponent can "Double back" and make it worth four times the number of points.
At the end, the top four players are called back to defend their money against the guy in the chair.
The format is okay, but I think that this show relies a lot more on "HOLY SHIT! WE'RE GIVING CASH AWAY!" than letting the game speak for itself.
Will I watch this again? Sure, why not. Ryan Seacrest is absolutely average on this show. You know how people have a stereotype of game show hosts as very cookie-cutter or cardboard? Yeah, that's Seacrest. He goes through the motions and neither impresses nor repulses me.
Overall rating: 6.8/10. Not the greatest but could be worse.

Yep, this show is totally relying on "OMG! MOST MONEY AWARDED IN GAME SHOW HISTORY EVAH!!1" more than anything to garner interest. Just saw some promotional clips on Hulu and based on those and last night's eppy I lost count how many times that was mentioned. I need more than that to stay fully engaged. I found myself getting confused as the show went along because of the random rule announcements and really got kind of bored, tbh. The format really isn't all that exciting.

I saw The Million Second Quiz yesterday and in my eyes I found The Million Second Quiz the weakest show NBC has had in years and I couldn't figure out why NBC had chosen to make this show a hit because in my eyes NBC was trying to copy Who Wants To Be A Millionaire complete with a seat similar to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's Hotseat called The Money Chair and I can imagine a lawsuit between ABC and NBC for copying Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. As for Ryan Seacrest being the star of The Million Second Quiz I think Ryan is awesome on other types of shows but as far as The Million Second Quiz goes I think NBC wanted to make him the star to make the show successful. But all and all this show is weak and one of NBC's worst shows I've seen, Overall Grade: C, Kelsey

Moved the thread to the GS of the Present board, stickied it, and added the Show Discussion label.

... because in my eyes NBC was trying to copy Who Wants To Be A Millionaire ... Hmm, the ONLY similarities I see between Millionaire and MSQ are as follows - Million in the title
- dark sets with plenty of blue
- Questions with 4 possible choices
"Trying to COPY"? Sorry, I just can't see it.
