I was looking at old news articles on the web and I found this. It's an article from the LA Times about Kerry Ketchem, the con-man who appeared on Super Password in 1988 and played as a contestant under the alias Patrick Quinn.

I gotta ask. Does anybody have footage of the time legendary radio and TV star Jack Benny was on Password, especially when the password happened to be "Miser"?

That's on the Best of Password DVD set that was released several years ago. The audio is quite shaky though. I'm betting that's probably why GSN never aired it.

If the deterioration of the Match Game PM episode from 1975 that was taken out of rotation is any indication, then I can definitely see this.

Just a heads up, Password Plus will not air tomorrow at 9:00am ET. It'll air again Saturday June 14th.
Super Password will stay at 11:00am ET

Bumping this because Super Password is on Buzzr (maybe we can alter the title?). They've started from the beginning with regular airings but one of the test shows was an episode a bit further into 1984 with Vicki Lawrence and Tom Poston. Now that they're leaving the fee plugs intact, I noticed a little something with that episode. One of the puzzles featured below, was "Quaker." No one guessed. and when the fee plugs were shown, I couldn't help but notice one of the products featured: idk, I thought this was a cool little thing to point out.

Checking my DVR recordings of Super Password... looks like the week of December 10-14, 1984 is the first week that features the airplane sound effect after the Mark Goodson logo comes on at the end.

I had just realized that my first message in this discussion had some misspelled words and had them corrected (to "Fitzgerald" and "Travalena"). Sorry for my not noticing them much sooner, especially with their being in a message that was posted at the very beginning of the discussion.

Since Buzzr was replaying the first weeks of Super Password for a while now, I know that in the passwords revealed on screen, the letter D appeared to have no serifs in the first week or two in the series. When did the letter D in the on-screen passwords get updated to use serifs? I know it did happen in 1984. I'm thinking it could be around the same time that the on-screen passwords during the Super Password round were changed from large white text to the normal yellow text. I don't think the large white text in the Super Password round lasted that long - I know it was definitely prevalent after the Gloria Loring/Pat Sajak week, as a male celebrity was giving "same thing" as an illegal clue for "Gopher", and it was aired as part of the "Saturday Night Classics" block in the spring of 2005.

The Tournament of Champions is being run on Buzzr now and I noticed one of the conestants, Carla, was also on Sale of the Century towards the end of the show's run. Glad that Buzzr got a couple of fresh weeks of shows. I hope they continue with this. I haven't watched in a while because it's been 1984 on constant repeat.

According to CardSharks19861989 on another site, the answer is yes. Here was what he said:
I have a feeling Super Password won't be coming back to GSN. Here's why.
The last limited lease only had almost 25 episodes and lasted only three months. It could be possible that the average median viewing age may have been much older than Press Your Luck, and as most of its target viewership is getting up there in age, they tend to lose interest in the show, as their health is uncertain.
Eubanks' Card Sharks has an average median age of 75, according to a post on Game Show Paradise. I bet, if that series continues on GSN, one more limited run may occur, and if I were to guess, it may be the final three months of the series, similar to what GSN did with Password Plus a few tyears back.
I bet Press Your Luck has a good chance of getting more episodes, as the average median viewing age is currently 65.
Future leases of Rayburn's Match Game are now limited to early-80s syndicated episodes, if I recall. I bet the average median viewing age is up there too, but if I am not mistaken, only two full syndicated seasons remain. I think there probably may be one more limited run of Match Game with a smaller number of episodes next time.
I can see where GSN is heading with regards to older programming. I'd say we'll be seeing nothing but material from late-90s and beyond before the end of this decade. I bet GSN may pick up the rights to Wayne's LMAD, Drew's TPIR (Season 42 or later), more Harvey Feud, Shop Til You Drop, Wheel of Fortune, and even Louie's Feud.

GSN has not shifted their schedule in a long time, besides a Wednesday night change a week ago (swapping The Newlywed Game out with Minute to Win It in). The only schedule changes I see coming up would be involving the Skin Wars and Idiotest April premieres. I would not put money on Super Password coming back to the GSN schedule, especially with Buzzr now too. I think GSN is mostly satisfied with the current morning block. According to a poster at GameShowNetworkNews, the current lease to The $25,000 Pyramid expires this May. It will be interesting to see if GSN renews that lease, gets a new lease for 25K Pyramid, replaces The $25,000 Pyramid with an older show (such as Super Password, Blockbusters, Shop 'Til You Drop, Sale of the Century, or even 2000's stuff like Woolery Lingo, Lane's Chain Reaction, etc.), or something completely newer (but unlikely). In regards to the post above about what GSN may pick up, no way I see anything mentioned except more Harvey Feud ever coming to the schedule in the near future as long as we have the current leadership. Even in today's upfronts, GSN moved away from traditional The Chase and the Chain Reaction revival. For the median age stuff, for ratings we saw on the morning of March 3rd (linked here: gameshownetworknews.blogspot.com/2016/03/gsn-ratings-32-33-for-card-sharks-press.html), the median age for Card Sharks and Press Your Luck was very up there near 75, if not even towards 80. That's bad, but what do you expect from 30-40 year old shows.
