Actually, I don't think Friday's a make-good, it's the Back-to-School special. The other make-goods air on August 20th, August 29th, and September 11th, according to the CBS airdates website. |

▲ Yes, but until (and unless?) the show's own website puts their airdate calendar back online CBS's will have to do. Actually, I have to thank thatoneperson for alerting me CBS finally got around to updating it; when I checked it yesterday afternoon it had only covered up to the end of last week.
And to be fair, CBS's airdate info has consistently hit far more than it's missed, so I'm willing to put my trust in that. (For now, he stressed...)
Incidentally, and just to clear up any confusion: The Back to School special will not feature the newly redesigned Turntable area or Showcase podia. It was taped before the Fourth of July show, which was the last to be done on the Season 41 set. The "new look" is still slated to debut on 23 September.

Punch-a-Bunch - The $130 for the highlighter-thing surprised me. Would have taken my money too.
Bargain Game - Same. I fell into the six nights trap.
Lucky $even - I cringed when she guessed the "4" again. I knew that wouldn't end well...
Check-out - Sank on the eye shadow. $1.49? Then again, I know jacksquat about cosmetics, obviously.
Cover-Up - In English or Greek, it's still a pain in the ass.
Scooter - The $5,200 jumped out at me; thankfully, our contestant picked wisely!
Showcases - I...well...
...
...
No comment. Let's just let this show flee from our memories.
Likewise, remind me why I ditched my Super Password/$100,000 Pyramid vacation over on GSN for this...

So that's where the other playing of Golden Road that we were hoping to see went. Not surprising it wasn't won, but maybe someday, somebody will go with the lowest number of all possible choices, and it turns out that normally the lowest number of the 4 is usually the right fit. This was probably the closest to six-figures for a car price we had since the Tesla Convertible during the rebranded "Green Road" in April 2010.
It's really different that all of the "big three" car games appeared on three make-goods this season. I don't know when the last time such occurrence even happened.
BTW, why was the episode pre-empted originally?

For those who'd like to know, the official show website has posted what appears to be a complete list of Season 42 airdates and taping dates, all the way through next year's Back to School Special. I encourage everyone to keep their eyes on this list, as it may help immensely in cases of pre-emptions or other anomalies. Check it out! |
