Also I've noticed ever since Buzzr has shown fresh episodes of Match Game '76, we don't hear announcer Johnny Olsen say "Stay tuned for (name of show) next over most of these CBS stations" as it loops part of the MG theme right at that point. Is Buzzr omitting that for show purposes? In the case of that, I have a feeling Buzzr thinks we're too dumb to know that the CBS Daytime schedule of today bares no resemblance to the one back in 1976. As if the year at the end of the title wasn't a dead giveaway. I wish Buzzr would stop doing this. Sadly, Comedy Gold in Canada did this, too.

This is very annoying and incredibly unprofessional on Buzzr and Fremantles part. The edit is horrible. The music isn't even cued at the right spot.
Buzzr is catering to the idiots who truly think "Tattletales" is coming up next after Match Game. It's purely embarrassing!

I totally understand cutting out the ticket plugs because some idiots may think they can send a self address stamped envelope or call the show which obviously doesn't exist anymore (although it is a current incarnation) but for Buzzr to "eliminate" the dulcet tones of a beloved announcer is downright wrong! We are reliving the wonderful memories of how game shows used to be and will never, ever be the same. The theme, the credits, that's what we enjoy and the show obviously.

Haha well how funny right after I posted my disappointment in the credits, they left Johnny Olsen's tagline for the next CBS show during MG '76. I wonder if Buzzr is really reading our posts? :-D

The same Maury from the Rafferty Card Sharks (Madonna is sexy) appears in the Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour episode for today.

Regarding the mixed-face ticket plugs, it seems as if though only the female celebrities/contestants' faces are replaced (usually with a male face) but never with the male celebrities/contestants as they tend to have only their mouths replaced. Thoughts?

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I just saw this episode today and I'm curious.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I just saw this episode today and I'm curious. If you're referring to me and "Speaking of credits I have two inquiries here. First, during two episodes this week at the closing credits it stated that "The (previous) champion was declared to be ineligible and will not receive the prize money." That contestant was an African American named Britt. Does anyone know why that was the case? Had he been on too many game shows in a certain span? Did he have a felony?"
I have not seen a response but that's ok.

I may be in the extreme minority here, but I’ve been watching GSN ever since I first got a dish in the late 90’s. While I love Match Game, it’s been airing in reruns now for 20+ years, I can say with almost total certainty I have seen every single episode of Match Game Gene Rayburn ever hosted, probably multiple times. Why does Buzzr still dedicate at least 4 hours a day to MG? Meanwhile we’re lucky to be getting a half hour a day now of Jack Narz Concentration.
Don’t even get me started on the Match Game / Hollywood Squares nonsense. Yeah, at first it was a neat oddity since it hadn’t been seen in 35 years and it holds a certain notoriety for being so bad, but enough is enough, the show really is as nauseating to watch as people have always claimed, can we all pray that Buzzr scales it back to one episode per day instead of two?
Now I’m not saying I never want to see Match Game again, but we’ve long passed the point of over saturation. I can only assume it does the strongest numbers of anything on Buzzr is which is why it has continued to have a strong presence on the Network, but maybe it’s time to scale it back just a little bit?

Welcome. I don't have Buzzr, so I can't speak for its "over-saturation" of Match Game. If GSN can cut its airings a little bit, I don't see why its competitor can do the same. They could put some more shows on if they wanted. You make a good point about its place on both networks.

There's still about 100 more episodes of MGHS to convert when they are able to go back to work in their offices. Perhaps they will, perhaps they won't

I have been watching MG7x reruns regularly myself since late 2012, and I thought that I too had seen all the episodes that BUZZR and GSN had aired, and stopped DVR-ing them. But then I checked the BUZZR schedule against my notes and realized there was series of some MG75 episodes I hadn't seen before, and I was happy to finally watch them, and fill in the gap. Even now, there are some MG78 episodes that I have incomplete notes for that BUZZR is currently cycling through. For example, for one game, I had simply marked in my notes that it had ended in a tie, but was delighted while re-watching to learn that that specific game had actually advanced through two tiebreaker rounds. So I say "Keep 'em Coming!"

pyramidfan two things: First of all, thanks a million for all the tape dates. Incredibly enough, even the Valerie Bertinelli week has a confirmed tape date, though I'm not sure why these Syndicated weeks aren't known yet: #018, #023, #035, #076, #094-#104. Secondly, do any CBS postponements I have listed in the guide below need to be corrected? I already had help from someone else here (which I greatly appreciate). But there's some for 1978 that I'm still not sure about (1973-1977 looks correct). For starters, it appears CBS Week #236 was intended to start on Friday March 17, based on Gene's St. Patrick's Day comment. But how it got there, I'm not sure. And it turns out Carter's Press Conference for Chicago on May 25 was actually at 5:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. CST. markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/Match_Game/Episode_Guide
