Friday's episode appears to be the 90th of the current season. Monday's episode at 9PM is new and is labeled on the Comcast program guide at episode 93.

Does anyone else find the stock laughs after a wrong answer annoying? It happens like 50% of the time a bad answer is given. I think this show would be fine without these fake laughs.

Audiences on most modern game shows are sweetened. Even back in the 70s and 80s, shows taped at NBC Burbank used very noticeable pre-recorded audience tracks.

They're back to airing two episodes daily again as of Jan. 6. That means there are at least 140 episodes in season 3 (and still counting). Is this GSN's largest episode order ever?

To answer my own question: It appears there will be 160 episodes in season 3. New episodes end after Jan. 28 after going 2x daily for three weeks in December and three more weeks in January. This seems to be the largest single season order of any original in GSN history. Episode count for the show will total 320 (65+95+160).

The syndicated reruns of America Says have been reported cancelled, and wont' be back next season, as per Casey Abell's blog

From the promos, I felt America Says came off as a bit dry.

Has anyone else seen the first few episodes of season 4? They changed the design of the contestant podiums for both the main game and the bonus round due to covid-19. They're trying to social distance. The design of these podiums for the bonus round are fine. There's four podiums for each player on the team, each with their own skip button. The podium for the main game however, they look awful. The design looks horrible. It's just one big podium and the design for it looks really weird. It's hard to describe. I know the virus has made things difficult, but the staff for America Says still could've done a better job here in my opinion.

I think the series that best adjusted to COVID-19 guidelines was the current $100,000 Pyramid. They didn't really change much, other than separate the desks and Winner's Circle chairs a bit further than usual.

Since he who shall not be named highlighted my previous comment in this thread on his crappy blog, I'll try to describe what I was talking about in regard to the new set for America Says. Admittedly I could've done a better job in that regard, but I still don't appreciate the unnecessary jabs at me and this board (and all oldies boards in general).
So the two sets resemble semi-circles and of course given the pandemic, the sets are rather wide so that contestants are socially distanced. Totally understandable. However, I'm not a fan of this design. Why? Well for the camera angles that face an entire team (all four members in the shot), it just looks so jarring to see the left-most and right-most contestants sticking out more than the contestants in the middle for each team. Then you have the camera angle that has everything in the shot. The board, the contestants, the podiums, and the host. Seeing the end of the semi-circle podium that's closest to the audience (I'm assuming there's no audience for this season, but you get what I mean) sometimes obscuring part of the team name is such a bad look in my honest opinion. It doesn't look professional at all.
Of course, I'll be a little fair to the showrunners because the pandemic has screwed up a lot of things. However, I think the podium designs could've been a lot better. I think what they should've done was not make it a semi-circle and just kept the straight line set. I don't think it would've looked bad at all. I mean, it worked just fine before, but obviously if they went this route, it would've kept the contestants spaced out to be socially distanced. It would've looked a heck of a lot better than what we're seeing now. If they insisted on keeping those ugly-looking sets we have for this season, I think they would've been better off having teams of three instead of four and make that semi-circle set look a little smaller than what it is now. I don't think teams of three would've affected gameplay all that much. I mean, didn't Get A Clue have teams of four in season 1? Now that show has teams of three for this season and it's working well in my opinion. Also, it has a straight line set for the contestants and they look just fine. Teams of three for America Says would've worked well too if you ask me.
There you grumpy old man. You happy now? Probably not, but hopefully that cleared things up a bit. Maybe this design change just comes down to me being picky, but I think we're all picky about certain things in life and for me, this is one of them. In this case, I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm allowed to have an opinion.
Hopefully I don't get a warning percentage underneath my username for this comment. I just wanted to defend myself here and not there because I'm sure if I went to his crappy blog and posted this there, it wouldn't get accepted and if it somehow did, his fans would just harass me. I feel like this was something I couldn't ignore. I now await the inevitable update to his latest blog entry. I can't wait to see what stupid thing he has to say about me, this forum, and other oldies forums now.

America Says has now done more episodes than any other GSN original in history, I think they will have done 355 shows, counting the 65 shows they've done for this season. Lingo was the previous record holder with 345 episodes.

New season just started. Looks like the regular podiums are back (thank god, season 4's podiums looked awful) and the team players are close to each other again. That means teammates can communicate answers with each other again and the team captains give out the answers when trying to clear the remaining answers. Last season, players took turns trying to guess the remaining answers after the other team used their 30 seconds to guess and I wasn't a big fan of that, so I'm glad America Says has gone back to this.

We're now treating the virus as endemic, so it makes sense.
