There is one PYL contestant that everybody seems to forget, likely because PYL aired at 4pm during her run- and that is Annemarie Carrera. By the time her run started, more and more affiliates dropped the show to air syndicated programming. If her run had been in 85, or if CBS hadn't put Card Sharks at 10:30 instead, maybe her run would be well known more.

She's AnneMarie Butcha now and I did see her on PYL but that show is what i know her best for.

Many of my favorites have already been mentioned, but I'll echo a couple of them: Liz and Pat McCarthy from Blockbusters. They just seemed like such lovely folks. It was fun seeing Liz on Jeopardy last season. Also John Hatton from Blockbusters. His story was very inspiring. His family lost their house but managing to win the highest amount possible at the time, then coming back and doing it again? That's one of the reasons why I love game shows. They can really change people's lives for the better.

Michael Terrell, who appeared on Press Your Luck in March 1986. THREE Whammies and EIGHT passed spins thrown at his face. $33,380 in one day.
The only downside was that he didn't know who Pee-wee Herman was (comedian with tight gray suit and red bow-tie; the 1985 surprise Summer hit Pee-wee's Big Adventure helped make the character become mainstream). It was kinda like Michael Larson not knowing that F.D.R. was on the back of a dime.

I wonder if any American Gladiators contenders would count? like Brian Hutson, Bridget Venturi, Billy Wirth, Tracy Phillips, and Wendy Brown from the first season, and later on, Dorann Cumberbatch, Maria Nichting, Rico Costantino and Kathy Mollica are the ones i'd think about too.

What? No Wesley "2 Scoops" Berry?

Kyler Storm is one i do remember because during Breakthrough & Conquer he did a front flip over Turbo in the Breakthrough portion to score. Then there was the time in Swingshot where he faked Turbo(which was illegal) but Turbo then PUNCHED him in the face. Of course, Larry Thompson ruled against both Kyler and Turbo(got to enforce the rules, i guess) but Turbo was the one who got disqualified for the punch.
In the first season, i do remember something involving Wendy Brown and Lace(or was it Zap?) in the Conquer ring and the gladiator got disqualified in that case. I'm amazed the contenders didn't trash talk the gladiators back then.

Michael Terrell, who appeared on Press Your Luck in March 1986. THREE Whammies and EIGHT passed spins thrown at his face. $33,380 in one day. In fact, he got his third Whammy in Round 1, but despite being slapped with eight passed spins in Round 2, he managed to win $33,380 all in Round 2, plus he became the first contestant in the series to break the $50,000 winnings limit in less than five shows. Other contestants I like: - Annemarie Carrera (Press Your Luck in June 1986)
- Darrell Garrison (final weeks of $ale of the Century on NBC)
- Rani White ($ale of the Century)
- Gene Snyder (Press Your Luck in July 1984, and Rafferty's Card Sharks early in the run)
- Hal Johnson (Eubanks' Card Sharks and Press Your Luck)
- Sheri (from Eubanks' Card Sharks in June 1987, who won nearly $60,000 in cash and prizes, including three cars!)
- Jeanne Pearce (from Rafferty's Blockbusters)
- Darlene (from Press Your Luck in February 1984, and possibly Bergeron's Hollywood Squares)
- The contestant who won $90,000+ on Wheel of Fortune before the Bonus Round - what was the contestant's name?
Also, could someone please clarify Sheri's and Darlene's last names?

Some contestants I can think of:
Hal Shear--Joker's Wild who amazingly spun three jokers which is what he needed to continue his reign.
Gene Snyder--Press Your Luck who wore the denim jeans and was ecstatic when he said "Big Bucks, $80,000 stop!"
Ken (forgot last name)PYL--who said "work it!" He asked host Peter Tomarken if he could take off his tie during a spin. Peter replied "Sure take your tie off, take your shoes off, whatever you want to take off."
Alice (forgot last name)--Sale of the Century who would never buy an instant bargain no matter how much host Jim Perry would offer in cash (pleading at times) in addition to the prize.
I'm sure there are plenty more but that's all I can think of for now.
