Remember when GSN had the "first annual" (I think they called it, can't remember) Game Show Awards? It's been 10 years to the date since GSN had it. June 6, 2009. I watched it. Howie Mandel hosted it as I recall, and I remember around this time GSN acquired and started airing Deal or No Deal. This is the strange intro the game show awards with Bob Barker and Howie Mandel. And the Game Show Awards "season" started with a bit of a feud between Bob Barker and Betty White over an elephant. Barker wouldn't show up apparently if Betty White showed her face, Bob got his way, and a movement started by BuzzerBlog called FYB started as well "F*** You Bob". Maybe a second Game Show Awards wasn't in GSN's budget. Maybe this controversy was too much for GSN. Maybe I'm just speculating. I waited though, and wondered. But there was no more Game Show Awards.

I see, on occasion, FYB on the serial number of my nation's $20 bills, and every time I see it, I am reminded of such Buzzerblog movement.

The Award Show as a whole was pretty sad and embarrassing, looking back on it now.

Controversies aside, it might have been cute enough for one ceremony, but not enough for it to keep going year after year.

The Game SHow Awards IIRC aired around the time GSN started to cut back on the classic Fremantle shows and only began picking up portions of the run of the classic Fremantle shows(and Pyramid), and also stopped airing Classic LMAD, the latter occurring probably because of CBS announcing the new version. I recall Classic LMAD leaving GSN shortly before CBS announced the new version would replace Guiding Light.

Controversies aside, it might have been cute enough for one ceremony, but not enough for it to keep going year after year. There aren't enough modern-day game shows to make more prime time award shows. I'm honestly glad they didn't make a second one, because what else could they have done for an second installment?

This is true. The first installment was kind of weird anyways, especially with that whole Bob Barker-Betty White feud surrounding it.

It was a little late, perhaps if GSN did it right around launch it could of been something

On the old, old GSN forums, I heard mention back in 2009 that Bob Barker's remarks towards Betty White were recorded, but the audio was muted. Was this true. or was it just speculation?
