Looks like the transition period will begin after the Covid-19 stuff slows down?

Whether or not Alex comes back, Jeopardy will be starting up again, when it does, without Harry, and without longtime contestant coordinator/producer Maggie Speak, who is also retiring.

Pat didn't like the Megaword category. He even acted like it on air IIRC. As to whether Friedman had the computerized puzzle board idea, I don't know. It's possible. Note that 10 years earlier than the touch screen board's debut(2/1997), other word games like Million DOllar CHance of a Lifetime, Scrabble, and Crosswits 1986 were using computerized boards. Only "Scrabble", "The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime", and the "Crosswits" revival, all displayed puzzkes on just one big screen, while Wheel used a total of 48 smaller screens (TV's, likely), with a single screen deskgned for one character (letter, numeric digit, punctuation). Also, I believe "Wheel 2000" - the kids' version of WOF - likely used just one big screen.

I don't think the puzzle board pre-February 1997 had TV screens on it, but the technology was there do do the 1997 model puzzle board a decade or so earlier. That and getting rid of returning champions were the first two big changes Friedman made to the show when he took over.

Here's hoping Mike Richards will bring in new energy that Wheel of Fortune just like he did with The Price is Right. The game has been broken for too long now (minimum win payouts being too generous and putting massive strain on the budget, the prize puzzle almost always unilaterally determining the winner, super hard bonus puzzles, etc.) and I have confidence Mike will make the needed changes to fix it.

And Mike Richards should not make changes to Jeopardy!, none are needed, especially if Alex hosts the next season, whenever it begins. I have a feeling Sajak and MIke or Trebek and MIke Richards might clash.

And Mike Richards should not make changes to Jeopardy! J!'s not getting touched. Its format as lasted the test of time, and all they did was inflate dollar values once (?). They may have banned certain wagers, but nobody's complaining about a stale format. I hope Wheel drops certain aspects, including the aforementioned "Prize Puzzle trip counts towards determining a winner" and getting introduced first after the Toss-Up. The latter pisses me off. $1K to get your name read first? Give me a break. Do the intros, Toss-Up for $2K, then the player who wins that gets to begin the game. EDIT: Or, if you were being generous, put the first Toss-Up in a dollar value that's in the middle, so that casual Wheel fans aren't complaining about just removing the opening puzzle in the first place.

Intros, $2,500 Toss-Up, Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, $5,000 Toss-Up, Round 4.

Uh... They're not upping dollar values for Toss-Ups. Or at least, I hope they don't.

I'd like to see them get rid of the Crossword Puzzles and bring back the trivia categories like What's That Song?, Next Line Please, Who Said It?, Clue, etc. The only trivia category I wouldn't want to see again is Megaword (the trivia question in that is to make a sentence that includes the Megaword).

Intros, $2,500 Toss-Up, Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, $5,000 Toss-Up, Round 4. I'm sorry, I should've clarified. That's how I would do it.

Then how would you do it? I have to explain this again? You're not upping any money. Then the second toss up (towards the end of the main game) would be the same as the Triple: $3K.
