Has anyone noticed that recently not as many game shows have been as fun? I loved James Holzhauer's run on Jeopardy! but then I found out that all sorts of stuff was changed because of him. First off, no contestant shout outs. Of course then they went public with the banned wagers in Final, which makes no sense at all and I can show you clear math that says why. We all know the banned wagers: $14, $88, $1488, $69 and $666. We also know the reasons behind the numbers. But here's the thing: The way Jeopardy! is set up, it's easy to get those numbers just by locking out your opponents. Say you have $20,000 and your opponents have $8,000 and $4,000, you can't be caught, right? So bet $334 and answer "What is later, losers?", your total goes down to $19,666 and you still walk away the winner. Jeopardy! James was awesome but there's evidence that the game sought to get rid of him as quickly as possible, and there's a theory on the internet that www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CzBvNJeIsU he may have broken the game itself so the www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPWLIPcpIjA powers that be tried everything in their power to get rid of him. I love me Drew Carey's The Price is Right but keep in mind, it's been ten years since the show was beaten by a guy who got the price exactly right. It just seems like everything else, game shows are taking the fun out of the game show. Why do you think this is? Do you think Jeopardy! intentionally tried to get rid of their best player because he was winning way too much?

THey can't attempt to get rid of someone on a game show, that could be considered rigging.

I agree, the modern-day game shows are not as fun to watch anymore. Even the classic game shows have fallen out of my favor a little - the latter due to so many classic episodes having aired on GSN and Buzzr in recent years.
My interest in The Price is Right is weaker now, but still has a little life left.

And GSN has been blah for years straight. Let's be honest. The only reason why they're in business is because of Harvey Feud. If they lose Harvey Feud, they're gone for good.

Yeah, I kind of agree. I still like to watch them, but as time flies, I've noticed I'm not having as much fun watching them as I used to. I think it's due to a combination of things.
As we get older, we start to lose interest in certain things in life. It's not just game shows. I've loved video games my whole life, but at my age (late 20s), I've noticed I'm starting to lose some interest in them. "Some" being the key word. I still love to play them, but not as much as I used to. The correlation here is age. Some enjoyment in things become lost because we get older. We start to lose interest in these things and we turn out attention to other stuff like doing adult things like work and taking care of a family. As a result, it becomes harder to enjoy stuff like game shows and video games. Being an adult sucks.
Also, game shows appear to have lost their touch. It's not just new game shows, but game shows that have been going on for a long time now. Shows like The Price Is Right, Wheel Of Fortune, and Family Feud have been going on for so long and it's easy to become bored of them. This next one's hard to explain, but new game shows I feel lack the fun factor. I can't seem to get much enjoyment out of new game shows. It might have to do with age again, but most new game shows I feel aren't very enjoyable to watch. I think the only new game show I've enjoyed in the last five years is America Says. Maybe it's the way these shows are being run, maybe it's the rules they have in place, I think it's a combination of factors.
I'm not saying game shows are suddenly bad. I still get enjoyment out of watching them, but nowadays, it's become tougher to enjoy them and it's because of the things I said above.

It seems like you have to be hyped up on red bull, have a sob story, and/or be a total dunce to be a contestant now on game shows. No longer can a regular joe be picked to be a contestant. The only one that it seems like it is free of that is Jeopardy!. That's really where I agree that game shows aren't fun anymore.
I don't get buzzer and have to rely on trades and gsn shows nothing in the classics except for Match Game and without butchering. A small % of people complained about the Batman/Robin question for example so gsn skips it. But almost every question on Harvey feud has raunchy answers I've started calling it Unfamily Feud

I agree that as we get older, a lot of stuff we grew up with, we lose interest in. I still enjoy game shows (mainly certain classics and TPIR), but my interest levels are much lower than they were five or more tears ago. In recent years, I developed an interest in certain retro cartoons and writing scripts for an animated series which I am in the process of developing using technology. I have used comic books and cartoons as inspiration for the stories I plan on using in my series. I know my series will not have a lot of episodes. Maybe tothevextent of two, maybe three summer seasons consisting of eight half-hour episodes. I also used to be a fan of 1980s music in general, until late August when I ended up getting an earworm. That earworm killed my interest in 1980s pop, and my music taste had changed overnight to rock music of all eras. I really seem to appreviate it a lot kore now. My weakening interest in game shows and stuff I grew up with does makes a whole lot of sense, especially since I will be 50 years old in three years.

Apply for Jeopardy. Have a story that's so "inspirational" and "uplifting", that the normal John Q. Public's going to cry about it after hearing it? Apply for just about every primetime show that's out there. Please, casting companies. Stop thinking that this is perfect for television. I don't have that great story that you're looking for. I don't even want to deal with applying for anything, if this is what the "new normal" is.

They have a live stream on their website, or you could get a Roku for 30 bucks and download either Pluto or STIRR, they air Buzzr live as well. Amazon Prime also has some on demand Buzzr shows.
