Not only do I wonder why it wasn't reactivated on Buzzr along with a couple of other things after his death or close to it.
I wonder everyone spots on the show. I just watched the whole first week in one sitting and thought it was a very well put together game. Maybe more money would have been attractive to people but I feel like it was a show that should have had a longer chance.

I also wonder about the status of episodes #67-#93, all of which were skipped by GSN. That is quite a lot of skipped shows. Either they don't exist anymore, or they were damaged beyond repair, or they were never converted.

The Goodson shows were IIRC three to a tape, so that's 27 shows, or nine missing tapes. This explains why the show before or the show after a group of five with a celebrity who didn't clear their appearance sometimes got/gets skipped.

Q&A shows were out of vogue by 1976-77, as Jeopardy, Who What Where, JOker's Wild, and SPlit Second all left the air in the previous three years(though Joker would be back, but with mostly multiple choice questions for most of the first season, the following Fall). The only other Q&A show on the air in 1976-77 IIRC was the weekly $128K Question.

See I disagree because they came back really strong the following year. With the Joker's Wild and then the next year with tic tac dough. Plus Jeopardy has been a big deal for the last 36 years.

One question I have: This is said to have run for 96 episodes from December 13, 1976 to April 29, 1977. I assume that really translates to 1 pilot + 95 regular episodes, but my point is - lay out the 95 on the calendar and it comes up one week short. Any idea where the skipped week might have been? Google led me to this collection: wildjackmonroe.weebly.com/double-dare-1976-77.htmlAssuming the dates are 100%, I'd figure it has to fall in either March or April - ostensibly within the third or so of the series skipped by GSN (stated above).

I think there was a preemption for the Presidential Election on January 20, 1977, and two for a monthly magazine program on March 24 and April 21. Not 100% sure about the other preemptions. The pilot doesn't count, and episode 1 did air on December 13, 1976.
It moved from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on March 07, 1977.

There was a preemption somewhere in February 1977 also, presumably February 3 I think.
