The shower game was a pricing game on The Price Is Right from September 4th, 1978 to November 30th, 1978 The contestant had to enter the stall bearing the correct price and pull a chain attached to the showerhead. If they chose correctly, a giant key lowered from the stall's ceiling, and the contestant won the car. Unfortuneatley after 9 plays, the game was eliminated due to people's remembrance of The Holocaust as they look like Gas Chambers.
If the game would of stayed on the air, it would let the contestants step into a bathtub and still pull the shower cord instead of stepping in oddly like stalls.

There's a segment of this on YouTube. I gotta tell you, this guy was getting a little bit ahead of himself. I guess it was out of morbid curiosity, because I didn't remember The Price is Right in those days.

I guess it was out of morbid curiosity, because I didn't remember The Price is Right in those days. I saw the clip when it was first uploaded in 2014. The game seemed to mislead the male contestant to believe he had to take off his shirt, but Bob stopped him in the act. I understand the game could have reminded Jewish viewers of the Holocaust, but after the guy attempted to strip in preparation of the game, could the primary reason for the retirement of Shower Game have been due to a contestant having been very easily misled, and did successfully strip naked on the stage on that final playing, and prompted the producers to retire the game immediately afterwards? I can see such incidents, along with bad reminders of the Holocaust, being reasons why episodes with that game being played were never rebroadcast since.

Yes, That fella was ready but that final playing could be the reason of it's full quick retirement added on to the WWII theory too. All 80 something pricing games and some retired ones did great on not misleading them but this one was a little too appeasing towards the contestants and what bob should have said was "Now, there is no water needed for this game but look at what you can win" Johnny O will say A NEW CAR! after that.

It was mentioned on one of the early game show fansites on the internet that Shower Game was a game more worthy or Truth or Consequences than TPIR

I also love your idea that the guy would've "successfully" stripped naked on the set as if the only security guard on the set that day would have been No Legs Nick, who cannot stop this because sadly, he has no legs. And that Bob would've said nothing as this dude kept removing his clothes, or that the dude would've just ignored Bob saying "please stop taking your clothes off." what the hell, dude?

They had a black woman one time lose her top on the way down to Contestants Row and they blurred them out and that was about a year before this Shower Game so yeah, I'm inclined to agree. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDgX2oxudT0

Straight from the Dob's fingers on the keyboard
.Frank Wayne created Shower Game. The main reason the game was retired was that it wasn't very good...it seemed more like a stunt game, something you would see on Truth or Consequences or a show like that. I did not hear of anyone writing to us that it reminded them of the Holocast...the Holocast reference was mainly around the studio and said as sarcasm in regards to the outlandishness of the game.
