Okay, I deleted a thread from palmer7 today, regarding Coca-Cola and racism.
Now, I know what you're saying: "But why'd you do this, Mandoli? Are you trying to play the role of Queen Scum?" But if you just read this thread, I'm sure you would understand my motives. And you'll read why I don't want this kind of thing around here.
First off, I didn't read the thread. It's in a section of the board that's members only, which seemed cool at first, but then I got a PM from someone who shall remain anonymous that told me that something smelled fishy, even though it was posted by a member of the staff. Then I read the thread, and it was quite obvious that I didn't want any sort of political debate about this... Mainly because I knew that it wasn't going to end well, regardless of what avenue it went down.
Look, I get that people want to discuss things around here. But I don't want a one-sided video with little discussion about the other end of the spectrum. I've seen enough garbage here (ie: basically calling male game show models cancer) to tell me that arguments would have come out of it eventually. Then I would have had to clean up the mess and start giving people warnings for name-calling. I didn't want to do any of it.
So what good is politics on a message board, when there will be probably be anatomy measuring contests between sides? Nothing good will come out of it. So that's why I'm instilling a NO POLITICS rule, starting today.
The last thing I want is to permanently ban a few good people, just because they got into the wrong thread.
Please respect your fellow members, and don't post things that are going to upset them even further than simple game show opinions. If you don't like what others post, please report the post for staff, so we can discuss this or take simple action. Thank you for your time.
