I didn't see a thread for these, so I figured, why not. I don't seem to come here much, but I try.
Blockbusters - I'm very happy this show is back! I love this show, and record it each day along with Match Game. Bill was a great host, and I love the games that make you think. Especially this one, one of my favorites!!
Shop Til You Drop - First time I've seen it, not all that impressed. Honestly, it's ALMOST like a Minute to Win it version of The Price is Right. I like M2WI, however, but not this. Even though, both shows are different in many ways. I will watch this when nothing better is on, so I will tolerate this.
What are your thoughts on these being on GSN, If any?

I really like both shows. It's great to see GSN bringing back classic shows like these. I still want my Supermarket Sweep though! I can feel it, we're getting closer to it happening. If STYD succeeds at the 4 o'clock hour, then that could very well open the door for SS to find it's way onto the schedule.

Not a big fan of STYD but I appreciate that they're continuing to acquire different game shows that haven't been seen in quite a while. Nice to see some variety, even if it's a little bit.
Blockbusters is one of my faves. If I had GSN I'd be watching that daily along with $ale.

I've been watching Supermarket Sweep on YouTube lately and that show has aged really well with me. It was always a favorite growing up. Great host, engaging format, the fun bonus sweep rounds... a really good way to spend a half hour. It's been too long since it's aired on TV.

I've almost forgotten how ridiculous Dee Baker can be, lol.

The original "Blockbusters" was one of my favorite programs to watch through the Game Show Network years ago and I'm glad it's back as part of their regular programming schedule. I was happy to learn they had brought "Shop 'Til You Drop" to their schedule, too, since I remembered seeing the original version through Lifetime on a regular basis between 1991 and 1996 (the version broadcast by the Game Show Network was originally produced for PAX TV).
By the way, the edition of "Blockbusters" broadcast today featured the theme song for the animated TV program "George of the Jungle" since Bill Cullen and one of the contestants was not familiar with it during the "Gold Run" round.

I always enjoyed Shop 'til you Drop. Along with Supermarket Sweep, it was a nice hour-long diversion and allowed me to just stop taking life so seriously.
I am glad to see it back on, the original and silly version. This is how it should be played. I don't know if you've ever seen someone try to go up the stairs 3 times in a row but it takes the piss out of them.
Actually, you guys can thank your lucky stars that they didn't do the Walberg episodes. In the first season, the goal was $1000, but some of the prizes were busts, worth only like $10 or something. After the first season, they made the prizes better and upped the total needed to $2500.
Blockbusters is a game that I enjoyed when it first came out. I'm not sure it aged all that well.

In all fairness, this edition of STYD still had its clunks - a $50 prize popped up yesterday on the 4:30 airing which the couple was fortunately able to overcome, partially as they found the most expensive prize in the mall.
But yeah, as I said above, I had forgotten just how silly DBB was lol. Agreed, I loved being able to flip on PAX in the day and watch Supermarket Sweep and STYD back-to-back. Hopefully STYD gets the ratings and thus maybe allow Sweep to join it - I'm also hoping for the same with Scrabble joining $otC.
You know what would be miles worse? The Roberto version. Talk about sucking the fun out of a show.

The Vase and the Basket O'clocks seems to be popping up regularly. (Only about $70 for the former)
Be glad this isn't the first season as well. They had prizes from .40 to $50.
I am wondering if they got the clearance for the Christmas Episode.

Based on the schedule pdfs, it looks like the current lease of Blockbuster episodes is limited to 60, just like Press Your Luck was. Shame. The schedule will start over from #372 to #312 on Feb. 27, if the schedule is correct. Yes, #312 to #372 is 61 episodes, but one of them was skipped (#354).

60 episodes for Blockbusters. I knew it all along.
And, technically speaking, GSN would have had 60 episodes of Press Your Luck, but what was originally intended to air on April 1, 2013 - Ep. 051 - was skipped at the last minute. At least that episode exists on YouTube, as it aired on USA Network. So while they do have the rights to 60 episodes, only 59 of them were airable. Hey, it beats no Press Your Luck at all.

372 I believe is the series finale.

The one consolation is that they tend to switch episodes a bit quicker. At least fans won't be stuck with the same episodes for 3 or 4 years if recent acquisitions and switch ups tell us anything.

372 I believe is the series finale. Well, crap. I knew that. I didn't even look at the episode guide that I compiled from the archive.org pages.
