And speaking of cars and Pyramid, it should be noted that they began offering such prize for breaking the 21-21 tie on January 16, 1984. Beginning on October 22, also with the winning limit increased to $50K, it was now a $5K bonus. I don't believe they ever offered a Car for the Mystery 7 on the 80's version until October 22, 1984.

That bell sounds like an old-style pinball machine.

Does anyone know yet if the 1982 episodes are being posted discreetly somewhere on a video sharing website (DailyMotion, etc.)? I've been searching around but my search logic may be missing something.
/Mods: Please feel free to remove this post if it is considered inappropriate.

Look for them only on Dailymotion, whenever they will be posted, because Sony is brutal as all hell. When they launched BBTV_SonyPictures, they began filing copyright complaint after copyright complaint on their shows on YouTube.
And yeah, Daniel, you should do a Video Archives page for The $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid, using Dailymotion uploads. Also, Daniel, was there a story about the $25K Pyramid tapes from 1983-1984 GSN was trying to convert to Digibeta getting damaged beyond repair on alt.tv.game-shows?

Sony is brutal as all hell. When they launched BBTV_SonyPictures, they began filing copyright complaint after copyright complaint on their shows on YouTube. Sony didn't launch BBTV_SonyPictures. As I understand it, BBTV is Broadband Television, a company that works for other companies in regard to exercising copyright over uploaded footage. Daniel, you should do a Video Archives page for The $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid, using Dailymotion uploads. Unfortunately, while the 1980s Television City era was great, it falls into the "way too much out there" category for me, especially given that GSN has aired them a bunch of times over the years. I did have a page in the works for the 1991 revival, but then most of the videos disappeared from YouTube. Sony's takedowns have left me not really interested in doing pages on shows they own (and pretty much abandoning any pages I did do), and Dailymotion sometimes doesn't play friendly with either of my browsers. was there a story about the $25K Pyramid tapes from 1983-1984 GSN was trying to convert to Digibeta getting damaged beyond repair on alt.tv.game-shows? Not sure. It's a bit difficult to search ATGS for shows like Pyramid since it could be "$25K Pyramid", "$25KP", etc. (with or without dollar signs). And that's not counting the occasional typos. //I just came upon Daniel Benfield's video archives this morning...what FANTASTIC resources they are. He's put lots of work into them! I...don't know what to say. Thanks.

Thank you, Daniel, for all your answers. BTW, there was a GSN promo from 2001 with clips from October 1983 episodes (Video below; WARNING: Point and Shoot). I don't believe GSN would have been able to show clips from such point in the run, if this digibeta problem story really did happen. Anyways, that's the last I will speak of this obvious false story here.

The second match ended to a tie, and then went to commercials.
The winners were decided on the buzzer at the end of the tiebreaker. is this the first tiebreaker in the series?

Yes, this was the first tiebreaker in the series.
At first, they did tiebreakers the same way as the original 1970's versions. A year later, it was changed to doing tiebreakers in the same segment. This prevented any problems, such as getting disabled contestants to the Winner's Circle (i.e. blind contestants), and getting Bill Cullen to the Winner's Circle (he made his first appearance on this version during the week of October 10).

Incidentally, the letters used in the first tiebreaker were G and D, I'm surprised the D list didn't start with "a dog" or "December."
I also did notice (and was surprised) that the top square in the winner's circle did have a category occupy four rows.

So, is anyone else recording this latest lease of episodes on GSN? I had a power outage this morning but luckily the power came back before my recording of 25K Pyramid, yet this event reminds me that there will be times that I will miss an episode or two here and there, and it would be nice to be able to trade with someone else in case of missed recordings. I prefer to trade digitally (MP4), and I have uploaded a sample here: drive.google.com/file/d/0B0xcI6LxCtfUdUZhVkoxTmVlakE/view?usp=sharing

The Wednesday. July 6, 2016 repeat (OAD: October 6, 1982) had a HILARIOUS IN HINGSIGHT moment:
In the WC, the $150 box had MEN NAMED BURT/BERT.
Levar Burton's first two clues were "Reynolds (and) Convy", who five years later got into the game show creating-producing business themselves.

One of the projects by Reynolds/Convy was the hit game show Win, Lose or Draw. I wonder if the syndicated Win, Lose or Draw got cancelled due to Bert Convy's declining health?

I wonder if the syndicated Win, Lose or Draw got cancelled due to Bert Convy's declining health? Actually, Bert had moved on to host 3rd Degree and Robb Weller took over for what turned out to be the last season. Also, the rule changes for the final season probably caused the show to jump the shark as well...

Bad news: The new PDF on Casey Abell's site just came out, and the Wednesday episode of the Elaine Joyce & Soupy Sales episode will be skipped. It likely aired on USA in 1993, and on GSN in 1997-1998. I know there is one episode from that week from a USA airing with Chris Vs. Debbie as the contestants. Wonder if that's the Wednesday episode? Paging wildjackmonroe

Paging wildjackmonroe Sorry for the late reply, but I just had time to find this episode and based on one thing, it looks to be as such. As I see the last segment, Dick Clark has some of the usual small talk with everyone which includes Soupy Sales, who plugged an appearance of his at a college in New Jersey on the Friday of that week, all the while Dick saying that Soupy will be on the show airing tomorrow (which would be Thursday).
