As per GSN's online schedule, starting on 5/11, Match Game between 8-9:30AM EST weekdays will be replaced by an hour of Whammy 2002 and Mike Richards Pyramid. Divided and Winsanity leave the lineup, as per Buzzerblog. No word until tomorrow on their replacements.

I'm elated Whammy has gotten the hour slot I haven't watched it in three years go to see it back

So how much of Match Game is left? Keep this up, and it'll be just like October 1997-April 1998 again.

Wasn't expecting to see Richards Pyramid again. Whammy's nice though. I wouldn't mind seeing shows like Russian Roulette and Friend Or Foe making a return at some point. I miss those shows.

Great to see several originals back from the era where the weekly PDF schedules were the thing. Just hoping they air many of the episodes of the Originals in taping order like they're doing with Chain Reaction and Catch 21. Whammy! is the only one I can think of that went to rerunning in taping order when the weekly PDF schedules began, all the others went by airing order and in most cases when first-run episodes are scheduled to air and the schedule was released a month early, it's marked as TBD. The originals they're bringing back, also comes from the era of the Game Show Kingdom, the site that was the go-to site for full play-by-play resultings. Whammy! cancelled abruptly before the website even existed.

I wouldn't mind seeing shows like Russian Roulette and Friend Or Foe making a return at some point. Now Russian Roulette is a show that I'd like to see make a comeback period. Straight up revive it.

So, with Match Game evidently being eased off the GSN schedule, it looks like the end of an era for GSN is at stake. I haven't watched GSN for nearly two years, and I have to admit, it makes me glad I have access to the Buzzr stream, plus GameTV in Canada is airing classics in the afternoons these days. If I had the option, I would have planned on cancelling my subscription to the package that has GSN, but unfortunately that would mean giving up GameTV and other channels, and even my Internet and telephone package. I already had to change my phone number last Friday, and it was supposed to be done within 24 hours. It's nearly a week now, and no work has been done. I don't know if COVID-19 and reduced staff has anything to do with the delays.
Not to mention the package I presently have is the cheapest being offered by my provider. So giving up my cable package is not in the cards. At least GameTV is a much better channel these days, and so is the Buzzr stream.
I am, however, surprised that Lingo is not returning to weekday mornings, considering that another 2002 original, Whammy!, is returning.

So, with Whammy! returning, that makes 2 Cronin-era originals on the schedule and an additional GSN Original from the Game Show Kingdom era returning to the lineup. There used to be like at least 6 Cronin-era originals on the schedule when the PDF schedules began, but Wintution, Cram, Funny Money and even Extreme Dodgeball and Starface were long gone.

Just to clarify, what is the other Cronin-era original on GSN's schedule as of May 11? "Chain Reaction"?

Match Game still will air MOnday-Friday from 1-2PM EST as of 5/11 It will be the end of an era of sorts when MG is no longer on GSN between 8 -9 AM. Since I started getting back into Classic Game Shows in 2012, MG has always been on at that time.
