Darn, I missed that. I've seen it many times before, but still enjoy it. I don't remember GSN airing Carpenter's episodes as part of their rotation before when they had the rights years ago, I remember them airing his episodes on special occasions though, it was almost like a treat when GSN aired them years ago from what I can recall. Of course that was a different time, different people were running GSN back then compared to now. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, I just don't remember GSN airing John Carpenter's episodes years ago when they aired Millionaire. The only Regis Millionaire episodes not aired on GSN IIRC were August 1999 and the 2009 10th anniversary shows. A shame that some episodes from August 1999 that WWTBAMclassics uploaded are still blocked and the channel is pretty much abandoned and I see no other users that have those episode on any website, besides the Series Premiere.

I knew the 10th anniversary ones weren't shown on GSN for sure, I always kind of wish GSN would have shown those though. I enjoyed it when it was brought back in prime time for the 10th anniversary special in 2009.

Just a slight bump on this thread, wanting to know in advance, but is Millionaire reverting back to the November 1999 episodes in the near future?

Getting close to the episode where the returning player and Regis enter barefooted. Episode may of not been on the internet when I went through all known uploads a few months ago. It was on YT for a long time, but what happened was that some company blocked it from YT. Well it's getting reuploaded in a couple of weeks, the GSN recording of that episode had the closing remarks after the next episode's Fastest Finger players are previewed have been edited out in later GSN airings(yes back when Rich Cronin was GSN's CEO and back when we had fun going to GuideAngel's GSN Message Board).

^ I never knew the episode was on YT for a long time, as every time I tried to look for it all that time, it wasn't there.
Also, since, from this point in the series until the Oscar special, the show aired strictly on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, as that was standard for ABC's broadcasts of the series for much of 2000. Though there may have been extra airings during the Nielsen sweeps periods (May, July, November, and February). Either way, we're approaching Joe Trela's run pretty soon.
I wouldn't be shocked if we get into April 2000 before the end of June.

Will GSN be skipping the Celebrity episodes (May 1-4, 2000)?

Will GSN be skipping the Celebrity episodes (May 1-4, 2000)? Yes, unfortunately. Ugh. At least we have some of the non-blocked runs by select celebrities on YouTube; not sure if any exist on other websites (Dailymotion, Internet Archives, etc.).

These were the celebrities that appeared on those 4 episodes: Queen Latifah, Emeril Lagasse, Lance Bass, Vanessa L. Williams, Ray Romano, David Duchovny, Kathie Lee Gifford, Drew Carey, Dana Carvey, and Rosie O'Donnell.

I am thinking that GSN is going to skip all episodes with celebrity players in this latest lease. I wonder if many of the celebrities refused to clear their appearances this time, unlike back in 2003?
The latest skipped batch featured TPIR's Drew Carey (when he was a comedian) winning $500,000 for his charity. Drew appeared later in 2000 and won $32,000 for his charity., if memory serves correctly (I think Kermit the Frog interacted with him on his second appearance).

I thought once a celebrity cleared his or her appearance, it was a done deal?

Back in 2003, a different company owned the rights to the series. Now, in 2023, Sony is the current rights holder.
