Really, the week of April 1 is interesting, the 6am and 6:30am slots have Match Game '78 with the new set and Richard Deacon is in the bottom center seat. The 7am and 7:30am slots have Chain Reaction, but are they from the version with Michael Davies as its showrunner though, meaning it had the Instant Reaction end game, Rich Cronin was the CEO of GSN and the first 3 chains have 7 total words. Also, we're inching closer to the episodes where Regis doesn't preview the next episode's Fastest Finger players. Was the episodes leading up to the Top of the Charts series of episodes the last time Regis previews the next episode's Fastest Finger players, anybody?

So do I. I'm most curious about Match Game's ratings compared to all the other classics which couldn't even last a month at Christmas time while Gene and friends have held that same slot for years. I feel like part the reason that didn't work out could be because these pre-empted the airings of Match Game for two weeks. Regular viewers of that show expressed disappointment on Facebook. Since double runs of Match Game were part of the stunt in the last week, perhaps they should have started the blocks with MG episodes at 1 PM and then aired other shows afterwards. I also remember that when GSN added $ale of the Century and brought back Press Your Luck, ratings were initially low but went up within a few weeks. So I don't know if it was fair to judge the performance of the classics so quickly. Plus some of the ratings we saw seemed on par with what I'd seen from GSN in the daytime in the past, and we really don't have their regular ratings to compare them to as others have said. I'm not saying that the old shows are ever going to be a huge ratings hit for them, but I think a 2-3 hour morning or early afternoon block of them could still find a good enough audience. That said, of course we always have Buzzr and streaming services for that, so it's not a big deal.

3 new game shows are coming to GSN in 2024: Bridge of Lies - June Tic-Tac-Dough - August The Flip Side - September
In addition, Split Second and Switch will be airing new episodes on April 8th. Blank Slate is currently airing new episodes. These are the 3 originals on GSN’s schedule. But what about Hey Yahoo’s remaining 38 episodes?

Tic Tac Dough will be hosted by Brooke Burns. The Flip Side will be hosted by Jaleel White Bridge of Lies will be hosted by Cameron Mathinson (which I never heard of)
Brooke sure has gotten a lot of mileage from GSN. From that show that shall remain nameless by me that lasted like 20 episodes but GSN reran it like 20,000,000 times

It really is great that Regis's "Millionaire" is back on GSN after nearly 12 years. If I recall, the last time Regis's version was on GSN's schedule was during a "Farewell Regis" marathon around Thanksgiving one year in the early 2000s. This was the very show that drew me back to ABC as a regular viewer since the network cancelled "The Monchhichis/Little Rascals/Richie Rich Show" in 1984. It's too bad I cannot watch it on my days off due to TPIR being top priority for me (and Millionaire is competing against TPIR in that same time slot). I could try to record it, as I do have plenty of blank DVDs, but I am not certain if GSN blocks recordings of their programming on DVD recorders (I know CBS and GameTV does), as I haven't recorded anything from GSN since Christmas 2017. Worst case scenario, I may have to hope that episodes get uploaded somewhere. It wouldn't surprise me if GSN leased enough episodes to air any million dollar winners from 1999 and 2000 to start. They may acquire 2000-2001 episodes in the distant future, or they may be included in this package. Who knows. I certainly hope they bring back "Super Millionaire" too. Also, what was the original airdate in which Ed Toutant returned due to a faulty question? Was Ed the only million-dollar winner on Regis's version in 2002? Happy 1 Calendar Year Anniversary of GSN showing Millionaire again; and as of this post we are just over 1 Calendar Year away from it's last episode (June 27, 2002) since they just aired the June 21, 2001 episode (it also my 5th birthday when it aired).

Then again, the classics are all over BUZZR and zillions of streaming services, so they really don't fill a need at GSN anymore. I didn't even watch any of the Christmas classics block as all those shows are already on BUZZR (and YouTube) anyway. On another schedule note, Buzzerblog just posted on Threads that Card Sharks (McHale) was dropped into the 8PM hour on 4/20, so I checked to see if it might be a regular weekend thing. Appears so, as 4/21 also has McHale Card Sharks

I might have asked this question, but I can't remember. What would happen if GSN stopped showing Match Game completely? Would they give the Valerie Bertinelli and Jimmie Walker tapes to Buzzr? I think both networks are fully aware of each other.
Though if you saw Tattletales back in February, Buzzr DOES have the Newhart tapes. So I don't know.

So, just now noticing since I somewhat lost track, the August 7, 2001 episode of Millionaire was skipped. No full episode or segments are on YouTube, only this:

Has that very episode uploaded in its entirety before and someone said WWTBAMClassics did, but it could also be VectraGS or Spencer Denison, taking a wild guess. Hopefully Chuck Donegan or Imad Khuri has recorded it also, it's also the 300th episode overall.
