So did anybody else catch the debut of The Wall last night? If so, what did you think?
Overall, I thought it was a pretty fun way to spend an hour. The game is basically Plinko on steroids. The rules were a bit complicated and the questions were very easy, but other than that I liked it.

I'm not watching this. Those in charge of casting contestants these days find people based on their sob stories rather than on skill and/or luck.

Yeah, last night's couple were your typical of a 21st Century big-money prime time game show....over-excitable with the requisite sob story you alluded to. If you can get past that the game itself isn't terrible, but things did get a little sappy at a couple points.

If you can get past that the game itself isn't terrible, but things did get a little sappy at a couple points. In the early days of Deal or No Deal, you had the contestant, their support staff, and gameplay. If everything went right, there would be at least two contestants per episode. As the series reached its end, you had one game a night, with overemotional contestants and little gameplay.

I'll pass on The Wall, just like all of the newer shows on TV these days.
Where is Pink Floyd when I need them the most?

Pink Floyd isn't a person; Pink Floyd is a band.

There's a review by Tim "Loogaroo" Connolly here, for anybody who missed the show (example: me). Based on that, I'm not interested in seeking out the preview episode nor anything of the series.

"Yes. You did something so touching for (add person and/or persons here), that we want to give you millions of dollars."
No thanks.

I've yet to watch an episode, but I think the worst part about this isn't the contestant stories - it's the "we'll force you to potentially lose millions of dollars" part. Really? You decide to give these people an opportunity to win $12M, but you've also decided to make them lose all of that at the same time? Screw you.

The best way to deal with that is to pick the left side when you get the automatic win, as that side has the lower risk, since they also drop the FORCED LOSS from the same slots.

But still, I lost interest once they started the sob stories. I mean, THIS ISN'T QUEEN FOR A DAY!!!
