If I were to guess, it's probably because of most of the network's programming doing badly in ratings. TPIR and a small number of shows are still pretty solid in the ratings.
Worst case scenario, TPIR had a long run, and nothing lasts forever. Plus, it might end up being a highly successful syndicated game show in the future.

If this does happen, we're not going to know. Although some gossip site will pick it up. (I'm hoping the LA Times does it again.)

If CBS sells it, then does it mean that TPIR will take place where Wayne Brady's Let's Make A Deal takes place at?
