I figure this thread can be for the entire series. Please do not comment about this (or any other episode in the series) in any other thread.

At first glance, it looks like just a re-edit of the 2003 special.

It's on! It's definitely not a re-edit. There are interviews with a bunch of people who weren't in the original.

Got this one recorded. I'll try to remember to watch this sometime after the NFL game.

The new interviews add little to the story. 2003 version is a lot more interesting and enjoyable.

Meghan Markle's story is a Cover Story episode. Next week. Same time, same channel.

I wonder what all they can do for this.
The Kerry Ketchem story is the only thing I can think of that they can do. Maybe a one time special with the Rodney Alcuna
There are some that GSN can't do because they can't or won't want to get the rights even for a 1 time showing like the Charles Ingram or the showcase exacta

I agree, the 2003 documentary was more enjoyable. I understand the interviews involved different people, but it's basically the same story, but with different people. I think, for the most part, it's more a compressed version of the 2003 documentary.
Also, at the start of the show, the 1984 references to Ronald Reagan, the 1984 Summer Olympics and Michael Jackson were replaced with leg warmers and non-celebrities.
The one new thing they added was Press Your Luck airing until September 1986, which i don't remember hearing in the 2003 version. Another new thing they added was Peter Tomarken's death in a plane crash in 2006 at the very end of the show. So at least this documentary did have some fresh information, if minimal.

That was actually surprisingly good. It was something of a rehash of the 2003 but it has some new material so I like it. Also I like how GSN gives the classics some love.

I saw the documentary. It wasn't bad. Of course once again, he didn't cheat (which was acknowledged at the end of the documentary), he just cracked the code.
The only scandal, or shady part was the aftermath of what happened after. In that regard, yeah, Michael was a bit of a money hungry scumbag.
For next week's special, I wonder how they're going to fill the whole hour on that topic.

I was originally going to mention that, but that slipped my mind. Yes, I thought that was cool they showed some shots of Prime Games.

They didn't mention that Bill Carruthers died two weeks before the original Big Bucks documentary aired, and that Bill Mitchell died in November 2004.

I swear that the Big Bucks documentary revealed that production dropped the patterns shortly after Larson, and just decided to randomize the lights. Or was it just me? Because that was never brought up in Cover Story.
