pyramidfan two things: First of all, thanks a million for all the tape dates. Incredibly enough, even the Valerie Bertinelli week has a confirmed tape date, though I'm not sure why these Syndicated weeks aren't known yet: #018, #023, #035, #076, #094-#104. Secondly, do any CBS postponements I have listed in the guide below need to be corrected? I already had help from someone else here (which I greatly appreciate). But there's some for 1978 that I'm still not sure about (1973-1977 looks correct). For starters, it appears CBS Week #236 was intended to start on Friday March 17, based on Gene's St. Patrick's Day comment. But how it got there, I'm not sure. And it turns out Carter's Press Conference for Chicago on May 25 was actually at 5:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. CST. markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/Match_Game/Episode_Guide My info stops during 1978, so I don't think I can help you adequately.
I can provide some syndie tape dates, though:
Week 18: 10/26/79 Week 23: 12/14/79 Week 35: 2/25/80 Week 76: 6/7/81

Dropping in a Note from the Concentration thread. The discussion there was centered around the rarity of two male contestants appearing against each other at the same time. Also, for those who'd like to hunt for the skipped Match Game PM episodes, none of the skipped episodes have 2 woman contestants and the only time any counterpart of Match Game ever had 2 male contestants was when a male champion being champ much longer than expected. That male player went to win a record 12 games before getting defeated by his 13th opponent. The Champ was George Frederick, who won four games on MG76, and 8 on MG77. He lasted that long without exceeding the $25,000 limit by only winning the H2H Match four times; 2x for $1,000, and 2x for $5,000. His 9th victory was over Ron Tonini, by a score of 2-1, in a game that was concluded on episode 876. After George lost to Phyllis Lear, the next two challengers she defeated were both male; RP Pounds and Ray Rivera. That was likely quite rare; having two consecutive male challengers.

So, I have been watching Match Game Productions' YT playlists to fill in the data from episodes missing from my notes, and I am currently in MG74. Something came up on episode 275 that proves that our 21st-Century interest in compiling detailed information on Games Shows was practiced by some (or at least one) when these shows first aired. The episode begins with one contestant, Janet Finn, who will be playing the H2H Match to start the show. After Gene introduces and greets her, he explains that Janet is such a big fan of the show that she "keeps score of who does what on this show". She holds up a piece of paper, explaining, "this is just Richard". Nothing is legible, but the implication is clear; she has other papers with more notes. With a rare Monday tape date of 7/22/1974 (per the slate), her notes would probably have been current at that time through episode 256, which had aired on July 19. As of now, the only episodes prior to episode 256 that are missing from Match Game Productions' YT channel are episodes 31-33, so any notes on those episodes would be extremely valuable A YT commenter posted five months ago that she passed in 2015, so it's not likely the notes still exist. See 1:41 for a good visual. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRT5di4XQo0&list=PLCnvmZ8KpyOp1xGcvW8wal0y8Ibbtty4b&index=156

I wonder if there were any moments on "Match Game PM" where contestants played for $3,500 -- meaning $250 (10 times of which is $2,500) and $100 (10 times that = $1,000) for each Audience Matches, and during the Star Wheel era, if doubled, a total of $7,000.

I found two instances of contestants playing for $3,500 on PM: episodes 21 and 27. Couldn't find any $7,000 attempts in the Star Wheel era.

Are some of the airdates listed for Match Game 90 wrong? I've just seen an April 1991 episode with Judy Landers and Arte Johnson on the panel. It says April 8-12, 1991, but the voiceover promo for Baby Talk at a new night and time suggests it is from April 15.
It is from WABC-TV, and I strongly doubt it was taped-delayed there.

markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/The_Match_Game/Episode_Guidepyramidfan I just finished correcting the episode guide for the original The Match Game as much as I could. Can you please tell me if there are any other celebrity guest corrections or additions that should be made here or any Special airings that I overlooked? I didn't know until now that there was a special Saturday episode on December 05, 1964. It aired at 10:43 p.m., right after the movie Bad Day at Black Rock. Also, it says on The Classic TV Archive Homepage (or CTVA for short) that Betty White & Brian Keith were the final guests on the final week. But is that correct? Thanks so much in advance.

This much I can tell you: Whenever a game show episode guide lists one of the stars of "Family Affair," take it with a grain of salt. Years ago, there were many episode guides on TV.com where a celebrity whose name had been missing from TV Guide was replaced with Kathy Garver, Brian Keith, or other cast members. (I'm guessing the person who composed the lists was a big fan.) Granted, some of the actors and actresses from the show did do games, but not as often as these guides would lead you to think.

Yes, I remember this individual always listing Kathy Garver left and right, for example.
So I guess don't know which ones should be added and/or corrected? That's unfortunate. What about Adam Nedeff's book? Did that list anything?
When I was looking up celebrity guests for this version in the newspaper archives over the past month, for some reason, the final week didn't have any celebrities listed in any newspaper.
I've also got a feeling that there may have been four special guests each for Tuesday and Wednesday of the 1,000th episode week, but only two were listed in the newspapers for those days.
Speaking of special weeks, this original version of Match Game really liked having sports celebrities play alongside the team captains a lot I noticed.

I can't imagine a sadder hobby than adding cast members of Family Affair as celebrity panelists on game shows they never appeared in lmao

Adam does indeed have a list for the NBC version in his Gene Rayburn biography.

johnnyo , do you have a list of all known episodes (CBS and Daily Syndication) with no Super Match? I have a partial list of CBS episodes with no Super or H2H match. I have also a partial list of CBS episodes with only one bonus round played (either Super or H2H).
I wasn't always actively making note of these episodes, which is one reason the list is partial; the other reason is that I only have data for episodes I have actually seen. In any case, it would be a simple (if potentially time-consuming) effort go back at some point and compile a more complete list from my notes.
Regarding syndication I don't have any detailed notes. Regardless, I would not expect too many episodes without bonus rounds, as it was a fixed format show, with six Super Matches always played over each 5 episode "week". I guess it would have been more likely on the first episode of the week, which always started with a new game. So, if that first game ended in a tie, the six regular questions might have pushed the first Super Match of the week into the second episode.
Finally, I am getting around to posting my list of MG7x (CBS) episodes without any bonus rounds (Super Match or H2H). (The list should be complete, but of course does not reflect any skipped episodes, like 31-33, etc.)
156 208 216 240 250 264 282 413 436 459 568 571 623 697 723 785 791 824 935 950 984 1035 1066 1093 1171 1194

If it'll help your record-keeping, there most likely were no such episodes in 31-33. There were at least five Head-to-Head rounds played in those three episodes, which makes it highly unlikely that there was no HTH in any one episode of that batch.

With the 1976-1977 Season of Match Game PM now complete, thanks to Buzzr showing episode #074, we now have the definitive Bonus Round results for all 39 episodes. When it comes to game show statistics, I like covering Bonus Round wins/losses. The top $10,000 grand prize was won 10 times all Season long.
