It's with great sadness that yours truly announces that Harry Anderson is dead today at age 68. Born on October 14, 1949 in Newport, Rhode Island, Harry Laverne Anderson was found dead today at age 68 in his Asheville, North Carolina home. Best known for his role as Judge Harold T. Stone on the hit '80s NBC Television Network sitcom "Night Court," Harry was Class Valedictorian of his 1967 graduating High School class. He began his Showbiz career in the early 1980s as a successful stand-up comic who based his stand-up on his love of magic. (In addition to acting and stand-up comedy, Harry also was an adept Amateur Magician). Though his IMDB entry, and other ersatz biographies wrongfully list his year of birth as 1952, his birth year was indeed 1949 as verified by this link at www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=360 Besides "Night Court," Harry also found TV success as Dave Barry on "Dave's World," airing on CBS from 1993-1997 for 4 seasons. Harry also reportedly had Dyslexia, a Learning Disorder that affected his ability to read, but in spite of the disorder found great success in life, both professionally and personally. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Elizabeth Morgan, as well as 2 grown children--Dashiell and Eva--from his first marriage to Leslie Pollack. Speakeasy, Harry, and God Speed! 10/14/1949 - 04/16/2018

He was born October 14, 1952, not 1949.

It turns out Harry Anderson's cause of death was ruled as a Massive Stroke. He was 68 years old.

Even Harry Anderson's Wikipedia article says October 14, 1952. So who's wrong? Even this article from CBS News says he died at 65. If even the news media got their facts wrong there, I would think somebody out there, maybe in Anderson's immediate family would want it corrected.

Hi. News sources are awesome references for birth dates (with the exception of TMZ).
Please don't use a blog post and then claim it's better than CNN if it doesn't have anything of value in it. I'm just using that as an example, but you know what I mean. Usually, a well-known news source will have an AP-published article for a death. I'll trust that over someone just spewing words out all the time.
Someone probably decided to go on his own thing here. I'll choose to believe the mainstream media here.

Hi,
I agree that, for Mandoli and phimat37, that news sources are indeed awesome references.
However, sometimes, not often, but SOMETIMES, even news sources CAN and DO get Celeb Birthdates very wrong.
As is the case with Harry Anderson, who as per the OP was indeed born in 1949, having died of a Massive Stroke at age 68 in April 2018.
I will continue to stand by his 1949 DOB for all Eternity.

Hence why I would NEVER trust Wikipedia OR IMDB with Celeb Birthdates unless otherwise confirmed by their high-school graduation year.

Look, I don't want to get into a fight about reliable sources here, especially since Harry Anderson is dead. Yes, mainstream media can get facts wrong. How do you know this guy running his blog has his facts right though? I just want to know how this guy running a blog is more reputable right now than, say a CNN or CBS News.

Hence why I would NEVER trust Wikipedia OR IMDB with Celeb Birthdates unless otherwise confirmed by their high-school graduation year. He graduated from North Hollywood High School in 1970, that would lead me to believe the 1952 DOB is correct.
