Sometime in the early to mid seventies, I stayed home sick from school and watched a game show that had a prize package based on either Psycho or Alfred Hitchcock in general. I think it was The Price is Right, but it could have been Let's Make a Deal. I remember the "sidekick" (pretty sure it was Johnny Olson) spinning around in a chair wearing a "Mother" mask. It was my first exposure to Psycho and scared me as much as the movie when I saw it as an adult. I have had no luck finding a clip or any proof that it actually happened. I don't think I could have made it up since I was too young to have seen Psycho and probably too young to even know who Alfred Hitchcock was, and it's an image I had long before I saw the movie. Maybe I'm crazy Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for any help!

Johnny Olson was the announcer on the Price is Right in the current version when it began in the early seventies. Jay Stewart was thw announcer/sidekick on the original Let's Make a Deal still on the air at the time.

In my memory, it's Johnny Olson and I've always thought it was The Price is Right, but since I can't find any mention of it, I thought I might be confused about the show/sidekick. Let's Make a Deal is the only other show that I can think of that might have done a stunt like that.

I do remember watching a movie, "Slums of Beverly Hills" and hearing Jay Stewart doing a prize description from a LMAD ep. And while not game show related, in another movie i heard the late Hal Simms doing the 'This portion of The Edge of Night is brought to you by Ivory Soap' when one of the characters dies. I think it was "Driving Miss Daisy"
