It's going to be interesting on how many episodes are left of him hosting and who takes his place. I think Sony had to have a plan, the powers that be just didn't expect it to be this soon.
Jeopardy isn't one of those game shows that they can get anybody to host.

The press release from Sony says Alex taped his last shows on 10/29 and new shows with him will air until 12/25. Be interesting to see if Johnny Gilbert decides to retire or not in the wake of Alex's passing. Johnny is currently doing the openings while social distanced at his some, as Jim Thornton is for Wheel. It's going to be a rough season for Jeopardy, already dealing with the retirement of Harry Friedman and contestant producer Maggie Speak at the end of last season.

Alex Trebeck host of Jeopardy, Classic Concentration, and much more shows has passed away today at 80 after his hard battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was a great host and was loyal and kind to his contestants. He is gone but not forgotten. There are now 2 hosts that are still alive in the Mark Goodson era and they are Bob Eubanks and Bob Barker. Other Goodson show hosts are still alive, including Bill Anderson, Sarah Purcell, Jon Bauman, Chuck Henry, Lynn Swann, Gordon Elliott, Ross Shafer, and Doug Davidson.

Nothing against any of them but thats a pretty sorry lost of mostly forgettable people.

Of this list I know: Lynn Swann - Super Bowl champ and terrible sideline reporter Gordon Elliott - filled in for Casey Kasem once Doug Davidson - Mr Crickett whatever her last name was then on Y&R

But I'm saying the main hosts.

I know this has been posted before, but Alex Trebek, the host and quizmaster of "Jeopardy!", has passed away at the age of 80 after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer, the show confirmed today.
He is one of my personal favorite game show hosts because of his sense of humor, his bright and calm attitude and optimism and perseverance throughout his cancer battle. He will be truly missed.

What are the odds of BUZZR having a Classic Concentration and prehaps Double Dare memoriam happening. It wouldn’t surprise me, but at the same time without the show he’s most synonymous for airing in it too it would seem really odd.

It becomes less odd when you remember that Fremantle doesn't own the rights to that show, so they couldn't air it even if they wanted to.
