(he stops)Nope, that's a miss. What's behind #8, Steve? Steve: (VO) And behind #8, we have the Major Wager![MAJOR WAGER](audience cheers) Greg: Brendan, here's how it works. You will bet an amount which must be in an increment of $5. Minimum bet is $5, maximum is your score. I will then ask you a question. Get it right, we add your bet. Get it wrong, we deduct it. You could double your score here, but be careful, because if you bet it all and you miss, then Garagiola's Rule goes into effect, and we give everyone an additional $20. So, how much do you want to wager?

Alright. Going for a $10 lead if you're right. Audience, please be quiet. Here's the question for you alone.
What South American monkey takes its name due to its similarity in appearance to a nocturnal bird?
(since you're playing by yourself, please don't PM me a buzzcode and answer; just respond here on the thread)

According to Andy Gibb, what is "Thicker Than Water"? 3. What do the British call gasoline? 4. What is traditionally the main fruit ingredient in Black Forest cake?(buzzcodes and answers via PM, please)

[CENTURY VAULT]Brendan! You're the first to try this new function, familiar to you, I am sure. It's the Century Vault. [¢ENTURY VAULT] [$10000]
Chance to make anything from a hundred bucks all the way to $10,000. It'll cost you $10 to play, but the cash is yours guaranteed. You've got a $5 lead. I--- I really shouldn't do this, but since it is the first show on Fox, and you bet $10 on the Major Wager, and I really want to show it off, I'll knock the price down to $5. You'd be in a three-way tie. What do you say? (audience shouts suggestions)

1. Which European country's name is derived from the term "hollow land"? (buzzcode: 94) *Kyle buzzes in (61)*Kyle? Kyle: NetherlandsGoing to the judges.... (buzzer)No, and The Honorable Judge Tony Barber will explain why. Tony: The answer we were looking for was "Holland". However, this is only a folk etymology. * Stacey Looks up after placing a book down on a coffee table * You’re wondering how we learned to tempt contestants so well. There are two we turn to for advice…one that we have the book on. “Monty Hall - TV’s Big Dealer” by the man himself with help from Bill Libby and Adam Nedeff… chronicles the life of a young boy in Winnipeg to becoming the host of a wildly successful game show and being a consummate philanthropist doing over a billion for charities all over the world. And in this keepsake you will find a bookmark that is actually $3000 in cash! This prize normally valued at $3045 Is yours on Sale of the Century for just $10

Well, Brendan.... Hmmm.... I don't have a copy of this book. If you don't buy this, then I'll keep it for myself. Brendan, the main prize here is the book, but I'd imagine you'd be more interested in the $3,000 in cash. Now, I cut you a break for the Century Vault, and you made off with over nine-grand, I can't do that again. So, the price stays at $10. What I will do, however, is throw in an additional $2,000 in cash. That makes the prize worth $5,045 in mostly cash and book. What do you say to that? (audience shouts suggestions)
