I know that Gordon Elliot was forced out due to a contract dispute after only 8 weeks. But he apparently wasn't the original host, Richard Kline of Three's Company fame was, at least he was for the pilot that accidentally aired on the East Coast. Does anyone know why Kline was replaced by Elliot?

I was watching the African-American Marathon today February 17 (it took me a while to finish on the DVR and this ended up in storage) and skip to the second tape which is 2 1/2 hours into the marathon (I put the a episode and then 2 hours later for each recording into the end of the marathon) so 930est so ep 0106 that begin with a mail order bride service.(for "diplomatic reasons" apparently) and it gets worse from there. I wanna make clear I have nothing against people from Slavic areas but this is really weird to put such a service on to tell the truth, definitely since they had a graphics package for it.
At least episode 0108 restored my faith with the original announcer appearing as a guest and the 'funny cop' but the episode right after it followed cosplay teacher. this is just as weird as the portion of the episode I caught when it was airing after movie of the week from a different channel, which started fine with a celebrity cameo but then turned into water finding rods. something I never heard of until that segment so I do not have much of a opinion but I am having a trouble describing it but it does not fit to tell the truth usual clear cut stuff and funny stories.
does anyone have any historical reference onto what happened to the show in this particular moment, was this just a strange week of episode or maybe it is because I do not usually listen to a whole weeks worth of episodes in a marathon because a lot of the marathons in the past cherry pick episodes.

Me thinks it was chosen because Lynn Swann was hosting at the time.
GSN during its ill-fated "Cozy with the classics" promo of 2022 ran a week of T4(1990), FWIW.
