In 1989 Peter Tomarken had hosted a show called Wipeout {Not to be confused with the ABC show of the same name} that was shown in syndication and then reruns of Wipeout appeared on USA as part of their Lucky Day hour. Wipeout was so cool that i'm surprised that it didn't last another season but remains one of the most underrated game shows of the 80's, Who remembers Wipeout and would GSN add it to their lineup someday?, Kelsey

"If you want to see Wipeout on GSN... Forget It!"
Not happening. Not sure if it has to do with Jay Wolpert or some other production company.

How many episodes did game TV air before they dropped the show?
Has there ever been a home version whether official or fan made?

Darn only 40. Wish it were all shown somewhere. Can't imagine it's that expensive for such a lesser known show.

GameTV has been known for leasing small batches of episodes (not to the extent of Buzzr, but much less than GSN's past practice). Other examples include Acting Crazy, Love Me Love Me Not, The All-New Let's Make a Deal and the earliest episodes of Love Connection. The last batch of classic Press Your Luck had only 30 episodes - six weeks' worth. In many cases, three or four months' worth of episodes is the norm for GameTV - however they did acquire a lot of episodes of Combs' Feud (the largest number of episodes known to have been acquired), Perry's Card Sharks and Sale of the Century in recent years.

1) 40. 2) There was a video game for the Commodore 64. There was also one for the Apple IIe, but I bet it's the same game

And to be honest I am pretty hard-core fan and the first time I saw wipeout on the list of options for tribute (I was window shopping) I thought it was that one it took me a week to see the page on the game show wiki, granted it was a list that did not give much information. most people are going to think big balls instead of the trivia show from the 1980s. people who are tuning in for a obstacles course show do not want to see a simple set quiz show. basically this show has a name that is more associated with a show that went in a different vein, kinda like hardcopy is most likely going to bring up the news show then the drama that premiered after the Super Bowl one year. (never really saw a episode but love the opening with the character dancing on the desk and the dot matrix parity) it really does not help that obstacle course shows are considered game shows by some. this makes it look like it is a game show with that name rather than if the 2000s wipeout was say a business show. but who knows crazier things have happened.
