Looks like another game show legend has left us - and exactly one week after Jim Lange.
GSN posted on their Facebook page that Geoff Edwards, noted for hosting Treasure Hunt and Jackpot!, passed away on March 5, 2014.
Now, only nine game show legends remain.

Aw, HELL no. >_<
One of the most genuinely nice guys ever in the business, by all accounts. I never had the pleasure of meeting or interacting with him, but everyone who's ever met him has said that in real life, he was pretty much the same easygoing, self-effacing, lovable guy you saw on TV all those years.
I always liked Geoff on everything he did, from Hollywood's Talking to Treasure Hunt to Jackpot to Play the Percentages to Chain Reaction, even on what I've seen from his era of The Big Spin. And, of course, as a retrogamer I have to put in a good word for Starcade. This one hurts. 8^/
In his honor, I link to this debut of Hollywood's Talking I found a while back on YouTube, which was also Geoff's first appearance on our screens. (It also debuted the same day as The $10,000 Pyramid and The Young & the Restless. Let's just say, two of these shows went on to become absolute icons of daytime television, while the third... not so much. Still, it did introduce us to Geoff Edwards, so it can be the '70s equivalent of Hit Man all it wants.)

I remember reading about Geoff Edwards in the liner notes of my GSN game show themes cd and I think he was great and it's hard to believe that Geoff Edwards hosted the original Chain Reaction and that Treasure Hunt would be the inspiration for Deal Or No Deal. I also have a classic game shows DVD that features a Treasure Hunt episode as well. Now that Geoff Edwards is no longer with us I think GSN will do a nice marathon in honor of him by showing episodes of Jackpot and other Geoff Edwards shows and that would be so good, Kelsey

RIP. Really sad to hear this.
Geoff was one of my favorites. My favorite shows he did were Jackpot and Treasure Hunt. I'm not a huge fan of the USA version of Chain Reaction but he did a great job hosting it as he did with everything else. Good with the contestants, had a great sense of humor, knew how to channel suspense. A true icon in the world of game shows and he will be sorely missed.

Absolutely, right up there with Bill Cullen. RIP, Geoff.

And here's something I clean forgot about, Geoff hosting Chain Reaction... but NOT the version most of us associate with his name!
(This was during the period when Bill Cullen was pinch-hitting for Allen Ludden on Password Plus, and NBC by-laws at the time wouldn't permit him to host two shows even temporarily, so Geoff -- fresh off Play the Percentages -- was called in as an emergency guest host for Chain.)

Ah, those were classic moments.
Also, I was a big fan of Jackpot and Treasure Hunt, as well as Starcade.
Also, one thing I just found out from his Chain Reaction days. He was forced, by Canadian Content Laws, to have a co-host on that show who was Canadian, since the show originated from Montreal. That explains why Rod Charlebois would join Geoff at the end for the Home Game segment.

Christ, this is really bad, I mean really.
When I was a kid, my mom used to think that Geoff Edwards was a dick until he started hosting Starcade, then she became an instant fan of his.
This is really getting depressing, I don't know what else to say but R.I.P. to a legend of game show hosting.

I never got to watch any of the shows he hosted, but R.I.P. to another well known game show host.
