January, 1997 episode of The Newlywed Game, because... well, I dunno. Just because. Dig it.
But here's the real main event. Syndicated episode of Richard Dawson's Family Feud from 1983. It's the studio master and even includes the slate!!

At first, I thought when GSN last ran the Syndicated episodes in 2009-2010, they skipped all of 1981-1982. As it turned out, the 1981-1982 season was the one with 6 for the production codes, 1982-1983 used 7, 1983-1984 used 8, and 1984-1985 used 9. So, GSN didn't skip any seasons at all.

RIck Thomas has posted 12 minutes worth of a local game show from KTLA Los Angeles called Guessword, a Hangman-like game, from circa 1975(news events mentioned in the first part of the clip date to May 1975) hosted by Tic Tac Dough 1990 announcer Larry Van Nuys to their Youtube page. Randy Amasia said on ATGS that Larry Van Nuys hosted Guessword and it aired circa 1975. The GUessword clip starts at 21:30. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfGJvR0-Bgk

Love ya, Michael Pannoni. You've done a great job.

Michael Pannoni is almost at 7,500 subs. I believe he will be posting the two '84 eps. of $25K Pyramid soon enough.

12/5 was a Saturday in 1987. A tape trading website says the airdate is Tuesday 12/15/1987 for the High Rollers episode. THe 10/10/88 episode of Wipeout is the first to have returning champions and the first to have the player names on the podiums instead of the players wearing nametags. The same tape trading website says the Blitz episode is from 12/18/1985, Wednesday of finale week. The Treasure Hunt episode comes from a February 1984 airing of a 1981-82 era rerun.

The tape trading website being referenced in the previous post is mine. I got that date off of the original tape that contained the episodes that recently appeared on you tube. Those episodes are coming from Patrick McGuire's collection that came into the trading circuit three years ago. After I finished making DVD copies of Patrick's VHS tapes I donated them to another trader who in turn sent them to Sean Stright who runs the Whammy channel on you tube. Hope this clears up any confusion on the origin of these shows on that you tube channel and the airdates I have listed on my website for them.

I've read a lot recently about Mr. McGuire's collection but have no clue who this person is or what that collection includes. Just curious: can anyone provide more detail on this?

Here's the story behind Patrick McGuire's collection - In May, 2014 Patrick emailed me about my Jokers Wild episodes from 1972-73. He was curious about them and at that time sent me a link to his collection. Patrick's collection of shows was amazing! The first trade I did with him I got 36 episodes of 1980 Bullseye, several weeks of Catch Phrase and also several weeks of Gene Rayburn's Break the Bank. In November, 2015 I met Patrick in person to trade for the rest of his VHS and BETA tapes in person. There were over 70 VHS tapes and 40 BETA tapes in that collection. Shows ranging from Blackout, Break the Bank, Catch Phrase, Bullseye, Wipeout, Wordplay, The Million Dollar Chance of a Lifetime, Original broadcasts of 1983-84 Press Your Luck, Hot Potato, All Star Blitz, Jokers Wild, Play the Percentages, Tic Tac Dough, Scrabble, Hot Streak, 1985 daytime Sale of the Century, Classic Concentration and 1989 Now You See It were all in his collection. I'm probably leaving out a few titles but those are what I remember off the top of my head. I took the BETA tapes to DVD Your Memories in Orange County, California to have those tapes professionally transferred. I have listed all of the shows I got from Patrick in my collection on my weebly page.
I also want to pass on the news I received from Fremantle regarding the episode status of the daytime Sale of the Century episodes. I have been emailing the director of sales from Fremantle in hopes of finding out if the daytime episodes were saved or not. I have been told that Fremantle has 883 episodes of Sale of the Century. This 883 total may or may not include the 1985-86 syndicated shows. However, no episodes prior to 1985 are with Fremantle. Hopefully that means that Buzzr might be able to show daytime shows from 1985-89 someday. Naturally it also increases the fear that the 1983-85 daytime shows may have indeed been wiped.

Thanks so much for your preservational efforts and for sharing this history. It's amazing to know that so many people out there are doing so much to keep these memories alive.
