Turns out the TUe and Wed episodes of the THanksgiving 1983 week aired on USA instead of two episodes from the Tony Danza/Melody Thomas week of 8/8-8/12/1983.

In less than a half-hour from now, we will be starting the Markie Post & Richard Kline week. (September 26-30, 1983) It was last seen on USA during Christmas Week 1993. (December 20-24)
It looks like we'll be getting episode #0267 from Tuesday (which is also on the trading circuit from the Studio Master), and it's the Thursday show that they will be skipping.

So, after nearly a quarter of a century, we're finally seeing the remainder of 1983 and 1984 that was never broadcast on GSN before. Except for some random skipped episodes along the way, GSN will do a better job in handling the show, since the likelihood of seeing the three episodes from Thanksgiving Week 1983 looks pretty solid, as well as the first week of 1984, and those particular weeks were never rebroadcast since their original broadcasts in November 1983 and January 1984 respectively.
So my question is, about what dates should we see the Thanksgiving Week 1983 on GSN, assuming no episodes from October 3 through November 18, 1983 are skipped?
And I wonder what special "gimmick" occurred on The $25,000 Pyramid in February 1984, given it was a "sweeps" period?

I saw the first two episodes of the week with Florence Henderson and Tom Reilly online and wow. Some truly great game playing by Florence. Winning three winner's circle rounds back to back like that is truly amazing. I remember a later episode from the week where she stumbled in the first WC but ended up redeeming herself with yet another $10k win. She was a wonderful player.

In early 1984, they started having a bonus for breaking 21-21 ties. Originally, it was a car. In November 1984, it changed to $5K. One contestant won two cars in one show for breaking 21-21 ties when a car was the prize for doing it. APril 23, 1984 was when the Mystery 7 started being hidden in round two. THey did a week of teenage contestants the week of 4/16-4/20/84 with Billy Crystal as a celeb.

Sounds like the teen week was for the purposes of Easter Sunday. A year later in 1985, Press Your Luck and Body Language respectively followed suit with a College Week for April 1-5, and a Teen Week for April 8-12.

As you just saw, Thursday (September 29, 1983) was skipped, and we are now at the last show of the week. Tomorrow, GSN goes back to air two episodes with Patty Duke-Astin & John Moschitta, Jr. (Wednesday, and the previously-skipped Thursday one). It's possible September 29, 1983 may air later in the lease, if what they did to March 30, 1983 is any indication. I have no idea if it aired on USA, and also if it really did have a win that became a clip, like someone said it did.

Two new players were introduced on the second episode this morning, ergo there must have been a $25K win on the skipped 9/29/83 episode. I don't know why they're going back to air the two Duke/MOschitta shows tomorrow. If the GSN schedules are right, the MOreno/SPound week of shows air MOnday 10-11AM and Wednesday 10:30AM and the unseen for 34 years SHelley Smith and Bill Cullen week will air next Wed and 10:30AM and next Thu and Fri from 10-11AM EST

It was a Richard Kline $25,000 win that was later paired with a Charlie Siebert $10,000 win in an opening clip. It's the one seen in the opening to this episode. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xAFrUV7hRs

At least the episode is accounted for, and we can confirm that it was, in fact, rerun on USA. That's more than can be said for the Mike/Jean/Faye episode of Press Your Luck from October 4, 1985 (the clip of Mike hitting $5,000/Spin the second time consecutively made it to flashback intros in Spring 1986).
Contestants on the 9/29/83 show were Terri Vs. Joyce.

I wouldn't declare that Mike hit $5,000 + a Spin twice in a row. Before he hit $5,000 + a Spin for $10,000, he may have hit $3,000 + a Spin and $2000 in two spins, or vice versa. Or he could have hit $2500 twice in two spins. Or he could have racked up his previous $5,000 in three or more spins. Was Mike/Jean/Faye ever aired on USA?

Was Mike/Jean/Faye ever aired on USA? No, it wasn't as the episode involved promoting a Home Player Game by giving the address for submitting postcards, and USA skipped those. Although supposedly, they showed Laurie Lloyd's episodes from 1984.

Just for kicks, here's the thread from alt-tv-game.shows from May 2000, when they announced that GSN was rewinding the clock back to the premiere of The New $25,000 Pyramid. This happened days after Sunday April 30, when they showed the September 26, 1983 episode. I laughed at Adam Wurtzel typing 1883 instead of 1983.
groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/alt.tv.game-shows/1883%7Csort:relevance/alt.tv.game-shows/oVkJ2qr6TdA/NUFGNBNbjvQJ (Highlight the link to copy, then paste it to the address bar, cause hyperlinking doesn't seem to work.)
Like Zach Horan said earlier in this thread, he first got GSN on 11/15/2000 (outside of tapes of a two week preview in March 1997 from Garden State Cable in South NJ, before Pyramid joined the schedule). Hence, he was unaware of GSN showing a little bit of the second year at that time.

Anyone know who the celebrity in this screencapture is? All I know is that it is from a flashback clip. It was paired up with a clip of Betty White in the Winner's Circle from the week of October 24, 1983.
