"If the shows are getting decent numbers overall, I don't think it should matter, right?" Welcome to the real world of television, with its obsession on 18-49. To take one particularly silly example, Showbuzz (actually a valuable site for cable ratings information) ranks shows on the almighty 18-49 demo. So you get craziness like Little Women on Lifetime - naw, I never heard of the show, either - ranking above O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, even though O'Reilly gets four and half times as many viewers. Now I'll admit that some programmers are starting to break free from the thrall of 18-49. The U.S. population has aged sharply over the last four decades, and the median age keeps rising. So it's finally dawned on some of the brilliant people running TV that maybe they should appeal to older demos, too. That's why 25-54 seems to be the new trendy demo. In particular, CBS has made a mint off shows that skew somewhat older than conventional wisdom would dictate. To get back to GSN, their daytime shows skew so old that it really makes little difference if they run Match Game or O'Hurley Feud at 1:00 PM. The audience is always going to be ancient. (I'm 65, so I'm no spring chicken myself. I just watched Match Game on GSN, in fact.) Our little game show network might as well just get as many viewers as they can for all those AARP and Life Alert ads.

"Right now ScreenerTV says O'Hurley Feud returns in the 1:00PM-2:00PM hour on February 13, though this may only be a placeholder until the site gets a new advance schedule from GSN." As I suspected, ScreenerTV has gotten new schedules from GSN, and Match Game continues in the 1:00 PM hour for the weeks of February 13 and 20. So it looks like MG is here to stay for a while, at least by GSN standards. So much for the conspiracy theory that GSN is just panting to foist one of those evil "more recent" shows on us. Looks like the network has figured out that their demos will always be ancient in the daytime, so why not save a few bucks and just run Match Game for another hour?

Plus you have more airtime for LifeAlert, Medicare and all those other old people commercials! (wink)

Before the 8am Match Game episode came on today, GSN showed an ad for Cash Cab coming on March 13th in the 6pm slot. I've never seen the show before, so I don't mind this addition right now. It beats having an excessive amount of Harvey Feud.

It's great. The show was pretty much done in a taxi cab in NYC, equipped with cameras. A glorified game show on wheels. The further your trip is, the more money you can make.

I didn't watch it much when it was on. I was told about it and watched it a few times. I really liked it and thought it was interesting. Great to see it's coming to GSN, maybe that's finally something else to look forward to on GSN besides Idiotest now.
I used to watch Match Game on GSN few years ago, but when I want to watch it, I just go to Buzzr when its on.
But really, it's about time Cash Cab came to GSN. It really was a good show. Ben Bailey was a good host.

"I just go to Buzzr when its [Match Game] on."
You mean there are times when Match Game is not on Buzzr? (The diginet runs MG eighty times a week.)
At least we don't hear constant complaints on the game show Interwebs about the MG and Feud overload on Buzzr, as we do about the Feud overload on GSN. It's one of the few times I'm thankful for the older-is-better slant on game show Internet boards.

I rarely watch Buzzr, to be honest with you. I mostly watch the other classic diginets (like MeTV or AntennaTV). Plus Buzzr doesn't exactly come in clear here, being on a low powered station, I have to do some fiddling with my antenna. But I do get it. When I do watch it, its on weekends when there might not be much on.
Match Game is probably my favorite game show of all time, Dawson Feud is second. But even I think they run those two shows a lot. But, much like with Steve Harvey Feud being popular on GSN, Match Game and Classic Feud (Dawson/Combs) are probably the favorite "old" game shows of all time for a lot of people. I can't speak for everyone though.
I've quit grumbling about GSN's use of Steve Harvey Feud though because I don't watch GSN much, but just for new episodes of Idiotest mostly now. I kind of miss new episodes of The Chase, however.
I don't think TV Land airs Family Feud with Steve Harvey anymore, they did but I don't recall seeing it on the guide anymore. Not sure about BET or whatever that other network was that aired it. But it's been a clear winner for GSN, I can't dispute that.

Buzzr, GSN, and my local Harvey Feud affiliate all need to dial Feud back some. *All* of them. I'm tired of it.

GSN has already replaced ten runs of Feud, with Match Game at 1:00 PM and now Cash Cab at 6:00 PM. Wouldn't you know, that just contributes to the ridiculous MG overload, with GSN and Buzzr now running the show a hundred times a week. Like I said, at least you don't hear the same whines about MG as about Harvey Feud, thanks to the older-is-better slant of Internet boards. Be grateful for small favors.
A funny example of the slant was Cash Cab's recent omission from Game Show Forum's top 50 list. They left to show out in favor of a bunch of obscurities from the '70s and '80s.

I've mentioned this in the Buzzr thread more than once, but Match Game can be toned down as well. It doesn't help matters on Buzzr because most of the episodes are the same 1978 ones over and over that have been on since the channel launched. The only episodes I'm watching regularly are the 2 fresh 1975 episodes that air daily.

I could definitely stand to see less MG and Dawson FF on Buzzr. I guess I just don't want to feel ungrateful because they do air a lot of other stuff I like, which doesn't air anywhere else. I don't even get GSN anymore, so anything they do doesn't have a direct impact on me. But I do think that Cash Cab is a good acquisition, and am glad it replaced an hour of Harvey rather than knocking something off the schedule. I also think that MG getting more exposure in a better timeslot is a good thing for GSN in particular - remember, a lot of GSN's viewers don't have Buzzr.

A more ideal sampling of Feud on Buzzr for me should be one Daytime and one Syndicated Dawson Feud and one Daytime and one Syndicated Combs Feud (Combs Feud is already played less often anyways). I also understand there's the Louie Anderson version, every Sunday in the wee hours of the morning, along with Bill Rafferty's Card Sharks.
The Combs Feud is the only one I watch on Buzzr, and I've been enjoying it. I love that they're even playing the daytime episodes from 1988 that were never played on GSN. GSN showed a little bit of July-August, but nothing in between August and November.

I don't want to complain too much about Buzzr but I really hope they work on bettering their system so we don't have as many repeats. It's my only issue with the channel. I remember when I thought GSN leasing only one season of $100,000 Pyramid for 2-3 years was excessive.

In the early days of GSN, didn't people complain about too much Dawson Feud and too much Newlywed Game?
