Despite skipping Pep Rally Week, they did keep Jim plugging it. What could they do, edit him out?

We'll probably have to wait until about next spring to see the remainder of Curtis Warren's run. This prediction turned out to be off by about 18 months!

I'm very interested in the celebrity list, please. You are more than welcome to send me the list via PM.
I wonder if the celebrities' faces in the Fame Game was one of the reasons why the 1983 era of "Sale of the Century" is no longer reran since the original NBC broadcasts, due to celebrity clearance issues?

I wonder if the celebrities' faces in the Fame Game was one of the reasons why the 1983 era of "Sale of the Century" is no longer reran since the original NBC broadcasts, due to celebrity clearance issues? I don't believe that to be the case, since no NBC daytime episodes from early 1984-mid 1988 which also didn't have celebs on the Fame Game board have been reruns. Celebrity pictures aren't an issue, but celebrities appearing in person would be an issue for clearance, anyway. Celeb pictures turned up on Tic and Joker reruns on GSN, among other shows.

Pat Sajak was on the Fame Game board the week of 8/1-8/5, as going from 38 year old memory, Barbara was told or told JIm if she picked Sajak in the final Fame Game, she would have had enough money to buy the car in the shopping round,.

Now to one of Australia's greatest "$ale of the Century" tournament moments - the final "Mad Minute" of the 1987 World Championship, which ultimately saw Australian $ale veteran Cary Young win the match and the tournament outright. Also playing were Daphne Fowler (then Daphne Hudson, UK), Brian MacDonnell (NZ*, who would later win the 1989 World Championship) and Mort Kamins (USA). (* - At the time of the first World Championship, New Zealand was still two years away from having its own version of $ale; my guess is New Zealand's contestants would have appeared on "Mastermind", "University Challenge" or similar.) I could of sworn that four of the episodes from March 14 to 18, 1983 are on the Web, considering one of the episodes (March 17) had St. Patrick's Day references? There's likely data from that week regarding celebrities' faces in the Fame Game.
That particular week was also hostess Lee Menning's first week on Sale.

So why exactly did they switch to numbers instead of celebrity faces? Did some contestant(s) have trouble identifying one or some of the celebrities before the change?
This reminds me of a similar type of confusion on "Super Password" in 1984, where in the end game the password was "HERD" and the D looked almost like an O leading the celebrity to think the password was HERO. To correct the problem, the letter D in screen text was updated with serifs two episodes later, and the first password to display the updated character was, interestingly enough, ODOR.
Back on topic, I like the colored numbers format in the Fame Game better. I agree, I didn't like the Famous Faces version, especially since I never had any interest in sitcoms, soaps and dramas then (and I still don't to this day).
