I think that Home Rebus Puzzle on the first show today ("The Great Lakes") may have been from episodes #0013, #0148, or #0178.

Apparently, South Seas Week was February 22-26. What did Buzzr cut from Alex's intro at the start at the second show? The Sweepstakes are over.

I know, going by memories, that sometime in 1988 (definitely by summer) that the very beginning of the opening had an instrumental track from a song by a licensed recording artist replacing the standard Classic Concentration theme. If Alex's spoken dialogue was not tampered with, it's possible that the opening had the very beginning edited out due to a copyrighted track.
I did, however, read a post one time that Buzzr never edited out "Shake Your Love" by Debbie Gibson which was supposedly used as a prize cue. I am thinking Deborah Gibson (that's what she goes by now) cleared the song for rebroadcast.

Alex may have been reminding people again where to send the postcards for the contest, or showing the puzzles again.

Some episodes, including the Woodstock/Sixties themed week from Summer 1989, used previously recorded music in the opening

A cover of Tequila by The Champs played on Cinco de Mayo Day in 1990. The two skipped episodes I saw didn't have pre-recorded music.

Miss You Much by Janet Jackson was heard in a SUmmer 1990 opening.

Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was heard in the Halloween week episodes with the blood coming down by special effects, but doesn't effect anything though when you're on TV.

Was this a fair ruling? On the first show today, Michael was buzzed, and Sherry supposedly took longer to solve the puzzle.

He started his answer before the buzzer. Also, Sherry did end up winning a car after that game. Michael did get another chance at the car in the game after that, but with 35 second. Not sure whether there'd be a case to bring him back or not.

Took me minutes to recognize that this was the same Ross who played on Press Your Luck in January of 1984.
I had a feeling that the two weeks for February Sweeps aired on the 8th and 22nd. Fellow NBC Goodson game show Super Password also had two Sweeps weeks on the same dates (Dobie Gillis and Carol Burnett Show weeks respectively).

Looks like next Wednesday (10/30) will be the switch in format to two strikes from March 15, 1988, which was used for the next four months before switching to two out of three games wins the match until June of 1990.

I wonder what was the most recent 1988 episode rerun on NBC in the early 90's? Did they ever rerun this one from the last week of July 1988?
Zach, do you recall from 25+ year old memories?

I think they got through late August of 1988 before going off the air for good.
And those palm trees... appropriate for the summer but did they really feel the need to keep them for the rest of the series??? Looked even more out of place when Alex returned to wearing suits a year later.
