I remember the Pontiac Firebird, Fox Wagon(I think Volkswagen), Eagle Premier, Dodge Colt E for four. The contestant who won the car in the 1PM episode did so by picking up three of their matches before they had uncovered both of the numbers beforehand. Jeep Wrangler Sahara, Mitsubishi Mirage, Volkswagen Fox Wagon, Eagle Premier, Pontiac Firebird, Dodge Colt E, Hyundai Excel GLS, Ford Mustang

There were at least 20 weeks of shows with this format in 1988. There aren't a lot of 1988 episodes with this format in circulation, so it'll be nice to finally have more. Besides that car lineup, here's what other ones used this format: Jeep Wrangler, Mitsubishi Mirage, Volkswagen GL Fox Wagon, Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais, Buick Skyhawk, Hyundai Excel GLS, Plymouth Colt E, and Ford MustangMike Vs. Dorrie; Mike Vs. Dorrie Jeep Comanche, Hyundai Excel GLS, Daihatsu Charade, Ford Taurus, Nissan Stanza, Dodge Colt, Toyota Corolla FX, and Volkswagen Fox WagonLisa Vs. Todd; Pat Vs. Todd Volkswagen Jetta, Honda Civic, Pontiac Sunbird, Ford Tempo, Subaru Justy, Excel GL, Nova, Omni (?; couldn't make out this one)Susan Vs. Michael; Susan Vs. Richard Ford Festiva, Hyundai Excel GL, Chevrolet Spectrum, DL, Mitsubishi Precis, Sprint, LX Convertible Mustang, Nissan SentraRoger Vs. Linda; Roger Vs. Linda Chevrolet Spectrum, Subaru Justy, Ford Festiva, Pontiac Lemans, Corolla FX, 323 Wagon, Jeep Wrangler, 200 SXLisa Kay Vs. ; Lisa Kay Vs. Eric Sara Vs. David; David Vs. Sara Jeep Wrangler, Chevrolet Spectrum, Hyundai Excel GLS, Ford Escort GT, Oldsmobile Cutlass Wagon, Pontiac Sunbird, Nissan Pulsar XE, Suzuki Samurai Vs. Ramona; Brian Vs. The Mike Vs. Dorrie; Mike Vs. Dorrie episode (posted by puttputtking) should be coming up soon. I recognize Lisa Landras, who Alex mentioned at the start of the show.
Also, it appears these newest reruns restore the home rebus contest week winners.

The MIke and Dorrie episode airs tomorrow at 1PM , as Alex references saying goodbye to LIsa on the previous show.

OK, so I am way behind, as I have not even started watching the new batch of episodes yet. But I have been analyzing the data I have gathered so far, and so I wanted to share some information about the bonus rounds and cars won through episode 163. (A "turn" is considered opening two boxes, or at least one at the end of the round.) General Data: - Average Starting Time/Turns for All Rounds = 44.02 seconds/13.44 turns; - Average Starting Time/Turns when winning a Car = 49.45 seconds/14.09 Turns; - Average Starting Time/Turns/Matches when not winning a Car = 42.12 seconds/13.24 Turns/3.67 matches; Data from Winning Rounds: - 79 cars were won across 326 bonus rounds; - Average approximate $ Value of each car won = $10,766; - Before the rule change 13 Contestant won 2 Cars, and one won 3 cars. Starting Time Breakdown: - 21 Cars won with a Starting Time of 45 seconds; - 14 Cars won with a Starting Time of 40 seconds; - 14 Cars won with a Starting Time of 50 seconds; - 14 Cars won with a Starting Time of 55 seconds; - 13 Cars won with a Starting Time of 60 seconds; - 3 cars won with other times. One each with Starting Times of 35, 65, and 75 seconds Turns Breakdown: - 20 Cars won in 13 Turns; - 17 Cars won in 14 Turns; - 17 Cars won in 15 Turns; - 9 Cars won in 12 Turns; - 5 Cars won in 16 Turns; - 4 Cars won in 17 Turns; - 3 Cars won in 11 Turns; - 2 Cars won in 19 Turns; - 1 Cars won in 18 Turns; - 1 Cars won in Unknown # of Turns (on Missing Ep. 148) More specific car data to come. I am blown away how you compiled those statistics, wow! And I too am behind on the new batch though I am at October 8th right now. With MGHSH and Password Plus also to catch up on, it will take a long while.

And speaking of statistics, there have been an avery of 2-3 car wins in each week of shows.
Of course the average gets lower once they started having only one winner's circle at the end of each episode, and again with the second two strikes format, but with the base time for each player.

Taking a closer examination of the November 1990 Tournament of Champions episodes, I noticed the commercials were from the week of September 16, 1991. So the question is, when was the final first-run episode of the show?
The episode that's said to be the finale circulates from a 1992 rerun; it includes a promo for a Miss America Pageant that aired on September 19.

I remember pointing out that it came from a rerun broadcast when the TofC 1990 episodes first popped up on YouTube, since one of them promoted the season premiere of the COsby Show that was on 9/19/1991(eight season premiere where Vanessa announces her engagement to Dabnus),

And the August 30, 1991 date is the same as the final first-run episode of Daytime Wheel of Fortune.

The last aired daytime WOF episode on 9/20/1991 had home contest references not edited out

Buzzr kept all home rebus contest references on the episodes we just saw, something NBC didn't do in 1993.

You could see three envelopes in Alex's hand on the episode from the 1993 rerun that is on YouTube(3/23/1988 airdate, 6/11/1993 rerun), which made me assume correctly that it was in reference to the recent home sweepstakes. THey did another one after that, presumably for May sweeps, because references are made to it in the early June 1988 airings from original brodcasts of Eric Ogren's run.

Wasn't there a Tournament in May of 1988? I think Alex dropped hints in one of the available 1988 episodes. I think it played the same way as the other two Tournaments (contestants with the fastest time over the past six months).
As for the Sky One airings in the UK, it just occurred to me that one of the Halloween 1988 episodes that circulates comes from a 1990 rerun, based on the logo.
